i see where you are coming from PP and i agree...im not saying that there shouldnt be a punishment...but jail time doesnt really "punish" most people..they get out and do the same thing again...now if there is a punishment that would make them feel the pain they inflicted on said animal...they might not do it again...because they've felt what pain is...and when i say pain i mean broken bones and all the real pain that comes with a good ass kicking..lock em in a cell with a few big ass inmtes and let them rough em up some(alot)...enough to put em in the hospital...most likely they'll never hurt an animal again..

I personally think castration of repeat rapists should be instated. Surgical castration, not just taking hormones. But that's just me. <.< >.>

My darlin' was raped some time before we got together. This is what I thought up for the guy. Take heavy rubber bands. Wrap them around his testicles. Let the blood flow be cut off until the flesh dies away and remove. Usually leads to infection more than anything. Oops...

Man Shaulwoof thats terrible. I think his nuts should be chewed off by a rat. Tieing up his nuts to restrict blood flow isn't that painfull [not that I know personally] I sometimes have to remove toes, tumors or such on these birds because that is the least invasive procedure. And infection is never an issue removing it that way. Let the rats do it.

Holy shit! 0.0 And that is why I love dogs. Well, one of the reasons.

This was my baby, Kita, before my ex took her. Was about to take her out for a walk and work on obedience.

This was her reaction to me coming back from a 3 mile run and sitting next to her. XD

Holy shit, PP, that's really incredible. And that's just dogs. Imagine what goes on in the minds of elephants, dolphins, and so on. I had another holy shit moment again last night watching a documentary on Koko and Michael, the famous apes who have sign language vocabularies of over 500 and understand English. I've long suspected that animals, although not intelligent in the same way we are, have their own kinds of intelligence that we're only really beginning to understand and appreciate.

Shepherds are the shit. I had a Mal as a patrol dog, and he was a psycho. I much prefer the character of the shepherd. All of them are bad ass though.

PP, who ever said anything about removing the infection? Though I suppose the rats would do quite the job. Or pull what Le Chiffre did in Casino Royale... Jackie's dealt with it pretty damn well, though. Tough girl, that one. I call her kitten, though it's more like tigress. Being tough is only one of the reasons, the rest are meant for a completely different type of board. XD

Jackie has a shepherd, Strauss, that she keeps with her at all times as a service dog. She's got him into Schutzhund and he's quite good. She also handles two other shepherds, one of whom is a retired narcotics dog, Ranger. An old man, but one to be absolutely respected. Once I'm out of college and we're together I plan on getting a shepherd of my own. I'm thinking of naming him Miyamoto Musashi. And you might get a kick out of this. Jackie wants to get a couple shepherds and name one Smith and the other Wesson. Her idea too.

i may be wrong but i thought our prison system was meant for rehabilitation of criminals. i do believe as a society we should protect the defenseless. what those kids did was disgusting. they have something very wrong with them to find pleasure in this. if they are only punished and not rehabilitated chances are they will go on to commit even worse acts. i do get the feeling most of the prison sentences here are out of sync with the actual crime. i feel that most punishment is based on current politics. when things don't make sense follow the money. a man here was found guilty of forcing a 16 y.o. girl to perform oral sex on him. they gave him a year and a half. if you get caught with an ounce of weed you get more time in jail. try to explain the legal system to me. smoking weed is worse than rape or child molestation. i am still trying to wrap my brain around this.

To be honest, I don't think they should get jail time. A thorough ass beating would satisfy me. Who the F treats animals like that? I'm no animal activist - I eat meat regularly. But torturing an animal whether you inflict physical or mental harm is completely unacceptable.

They're minors though, so even if they went to jail I seriously doubt they'd have anything done to them that would scar them. Which is what I want for them.

Hey, that's how Dahmer started out...torturing animals.

The justice system is a joke. Theres no such thing as rehabilitation. Checkbook justice and a revolving door prison.....

our "justice" system is a business, pure and simple.

It's true, I think, that our justice system is messed up at its foundations. I, for one, am a die-hard determinist, which means I believe in cause and effect only. A consequence for this belief is that "free will" as we know it does not actually exist. What does exist is a priori programming and environment - nature and nurture. Criminals do not know why they do what they do, and ultimately it is not their fault if they do something bad. This is something we can all relate to. When I was a kid I dissected a AA battery on my parents' wooden coffee table, and the acid burned through the surface. My father got really angry at me and called me stupid, which confused me because I didn't know what I was doing. Therefore hard time only makes wrong-doers worse. What the justice system should do instead is find a way to one, reprogram people (this is an increasingly broad field), and two, create an environment for them in which positive cause-effect relationships can take place.
