What would be a good quick grab gun?

What do you need it for, and are you looking for pistol, shotgun...?

I have a Ruger LCP on order and I think they are pretty cool... what we in the business call a "get off me" gun.

I want to get a break action stagecoach type 12 gauge, but i would have to find one for the right price. i think it would be good for a good old fashioned down home burglar shootin.

if you get the one you posted the pic of, youre gonna have to get an ATF stamp or a license, cause in GA the barrel length on a shotgun has to be 18'' (w/o the tax stamp). i think the stamp for it is about 200$ i'm sure youre a law abiding citizen, but get caught with something like that (without required ATF stamp), law abiding or not, and you will be crucified in the system. just possessing it would be bad news. just my .02

"protection" for the house...doesn't really matter the type just something i could grab in the middle of the night that would scare the shit out of anybody trying to break in...im not sure about the law in GA but id like to have a shotgun sitting on my dash(unloaded of course) to deter jackings(as a couple have been happening recently when people would stop at the red light by MLK on Tennessee St

go here and look at my post with the photos. Check out my second photo, 12 guage double barrel stagecoach shotgun, on the far right of the photo. Yea thats one of my favorites for home protection. You simply have to point that beast in the right direction and pull the triggers. You can't miss.

The barrel on mine is like 18 1/2 inches. Still legal in Illinois. And you want shorter? Any shorter and you'd be shootin yourself.


Hold that gun to your shoulder one time and pull the trigger...........INSTANT BRUISE. no kidding, it can hurt you. The pattern spreads so much its easy to shoot from the hip and pretty much never miss, and not walk away bruised.

My shotgun is 14'', and i have used that one so long, that it just feels like a good barrel length for tactical applications.



I have a Stevens model 12 duck gun and it feels loooong the first little while im shooting/handling it.

Isn't that a federal law? I know your special, in a good way. I've seen some really short barrels that were owned by "special" people too. But they weren't special in a good way. Makes me want to run away just so I don't get busted with the person in posession. geez
