    Animals you love

We have plenty of threads about animals, but none specifically on the ones that we own and love. So here it is! Post pics, vids, etc!

While Strauss isn't mine, he is Jackie's. She calls him a moose of a mouse.

    He's titled.

    Taken last March.

    Again, last March.

Yep, you guessed it. Last March.

    Obligatory action shot.

If the dog is doing schutzhund, then it is probably doing a bark and hold, or some other aspect of handler protection.

Do you train domestic dogs for schutzhund though?

Yeah, schutzhund is different than, say, a police k9 or a service dog's training.
Schutzhund was developed by von Stephanitz (who developed the german shepherd dog) to be (essentially) a barometer of the shepherd's intelligence and willingness/ability to work independent of commands/ follow commands. But it has since evolved into a sport, more or less....and it gives you bragging rights if you are a kennel trying to sell puppies.

If I recall correctly Jackie was doing a bark and hold when the last photo was taken. Quite impressive to see him get aggressive since normally he's lying belly up on the bed trying to cuddle with her. And since Jackie's nephew, who's still an infant, is in the house he's taken the role of daddy and keeps going back and forth to check on him and make sure he's alright at the slightest stirring.

Easily the smartest dog I've ever had. Extremely well behaved, too.

You snus and do obedience? Cool. Are you working on your CDX? I have been showing dogs since I was eight. I titled my first dog when I was nine and a half.

This is Tank, he is a mutt. A big 100+lb mutt. Sweet as sugar

And this is Doja, I wanted to have Tank & Dozer like in the Matrix, but I wound up with a girl so I named her similar to Doser but more girlie (pronounced do-sha). She is also a mutt, I think she is boxer-pitt or something of the sort.

And this one I apparently took one night while very drunk to show everybody how much my fat ass likes McDonald's pie! (We all know that Pie = Win!)

Here is the brave, the killer and our guardian, Jack Henry at 6 months. Note how bravely he is guarding the living room.

and at 4 years old he feels like a super dog and guards the neighborhood from the hood of the truck.

Your bro looks real familiar. Did he ever hang around in Savannah with a cat named Davey?

Yarp, he did. He used to live in Sav. Worked Fire/EMS. Then one day got all patriotic and said I want to be a medic in the army. Let me guess, he did something assholish to you? haha

These are my kittiots. The gray mixed girl's(Frankie) a real sweetheart. Very affectionate, and she's sticks to me like a Remora. she's always in my lap, and I fall asleep every night with her on my legs.

The tuxedo tom's(Junior) kind of a shithead, but he makes me laugh. He's very aggressive, and he doesn't like to be pet. He has to initiate contact, and he'll do the rubbing, otherwise he doesn't like being touched. The one exception to that is when he occasionally gets in my lap. He like being squeezed very hard, and he'll start purring and drooling :^D

He'll swipe at my daughter when she walks by, and she's half afraid of him :^D I'll sometimes pick him up, and get him good and pissed because he doesn't much like being held. When I put him down, there's a pecking order of who he'll go after. If his sister's there, he'll swat at her. If she's not available, he'll go after my daughter, and if she's not there. he'll wait until my back's turned, then go after the back of my legs :^D
