I totally agree about waiting until the right time. I waited 8 years to have cats, until I was sure I could take good care of them. Then again, when it comes to animals, one's never really ready, because they challenge a person from the start in unforeseen ways.

I hear that, I'm an "animal person" with 2 awesome cats, and I work in an industry where I'm exposed to wonderful animals in need constantly, but I'm waiting to get dogs until I am more financially stable, so I can give them the best care and what they deserve.

Maximus - that's one hell of a Rott you have there. Congratulations! Just spoke with condor on IRC about dogs. I can't wait till I trade in this apartment with a house. We'll be having a Rott as well. And most likely a German Shepherd as well.

My boy Damian at 11 months. Absolutely wonderful with the family, and absolutely horrendous with strangers. He's going to social school with a K9 specialist soon. That's what I get for buying a K9 bred Shepherd with extremely high drive.
