    Tuffies Dog Toys - HA!

So anyone who has a bully-breed of any sort knows that they LOVE to chew on stuff. I am always looking for dog toys that will survive the wrath of Doja (Boxer/Pitt mix).

I finally broke down and decided to order one of those "Tuffies" dog toys from www.vipproducts.com.

My dog LOVES to play tug-o-war, so I got the "Ultimate tug-o-war". This thing is supposed to be ranked a level 9 out of 10 on the toughness scale.

HA! Within minutes of it being home she had shredded through the "super tough luggage material" around the edged (I've actually been trimming it off with scissors as it goes to keep from having black fuzz all over everything).

Well, Here is Doja with her "Tuffies Ultimate Tug-O-War" after just one week.

Do yourself a favor if you are ever considering one of these things... Stick with Kong balls and beef bones.

if there are any annoying kids in our neighborhood you could invite them over to play with your dog. maybe tie a porkchop around their neck.

I think that would be a bit messy. Though it would probably last longer than this piece of crap

they have some good suff at elitek9.com and rayallen.com

i have found the best toy is the cheapest...its free..
go to your local fire department and get some old fire hose if they have it. cut off about a foot or so length and sew the ends shut.... it isnt impossible for them to tear it up, but they last a while.

Well shit. I make custom fire hoses in my shop. I never even thought about that!

I was gonna say sorta what condor said.

They sell toys made out of fire hose. Like he said they don't last forever like a kong, but do hold up for a super long time.

I usually stick to the cheapest dog toys I can find since they only last about 15 minutes with my two mutts.

Well, good deal. My understanding is that it has some kevlar in it....hence, cut resistance. I dont know if its true or if its something similar to kevlar.....i just know that my mal would chew like hell on it, and it didnt really deteriorate that much...and he could BITE. Not pit bull bite hard, but pretty amazing.

Excellent! I'll give it a shot tomorrow. Nab some hose from work and go over to my mom's place after work and hijack the sewing machine for a bit.

                Thanks guys!

Condor is a genius ;-) I too would suggest elitek9 or Ray Allen. Strauss is absolute murder on rope tuggies, and I only use them in a pinch. He's graduated to a hard leather tug for "Whip 'em 'round!" rewarding.

I'm guessing Doja has also killed Kongs, and the Wubba xD

I always used those rope material toys that they tie into bones and such. Worked pretty well with Kita, but then again, she was only 5 months old still.

Oh yeah. She kills everything I throw at her. The only things that last are when I go to the butcher and get a nice thick beef bone and prep it for her.

I've had the same beef bone for years. Unfortunately, it's kinda hard to play tug-o-war with...

Wow... that couldn't be taken out of context or anything

Well, if she's that destructive, then Do would probably do well with a Jute or hard leather tug.

Strauss's grips can be (much to my surprise) killer. I should get some video xD!

                            Jute = Fire Hose

That's what schutzhund sleeves are made out of too.

Strauss kills jute, which is why I went with the leather roll.
