I consider myself mid-Atlantic; Neither south or north, but both at the same time. I voted other.

Born and raised in Oklahoma, and live in Wisconsin. I still identify more with the southern part of the States...

That's what's wrong with Maryland. It wants to jump back and forth between sides.

Born and raised in the south, I've lived all over the world since then and nothing will ever strip the rebel out of my soul. Here's to the Confederated States of America, may they forever stand proud.

Where is the option for WESTERN US? Some of us don't care about your petty North/South squabble, because we know the REALLY GREAT part of this country is out west :P

I was born in California, went to school in California, but returned Laura to North Carolina right before we married 14 years ago. I'm not sure I "identify" with being a Southerner. but this is my home now. After Laura and I separated two years ago, my Mom asked if I would move back west and I just laughed at her.

I was born in Pittsburgh, and most of my family that is not in Hungary lives in the Pitt / Ohio River Valley Tri-State area. My dad was military, and I have lived all over. I have lived places I dont even remember. West coast to east coast. All over. I ended up going to college and getting married here at the University of Georgia, and we got jobs and a house and dogs. I am still working on returning to Pittsburgh, as that is what I consider "home".

I've lived in 5 states. Illinois (Chicago suburb), Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee and Florida.

I feel more northern living here in Florida then I did when I lived in Tennessee.

I think the North and South thing is a good piece of American history everyone needs to be knowledgeable of, however, in this day in age it seems the country is split up into many different regions (as referenced in other post re: the west and mid atlantic), everyone is proud of their own region and I'm not sure how many really want to or even can "relate" to either the North or the South... Sounds like a Civil War question.

Allow me to explain, and keep in mind, it's just my own opinion, meant for entertainment purposes only. Let me break down the states I've lived in, and the "regions" I would associate them with:

                          California - West Coast
                          Oregon - Pacific Northwest
                          Ohio - Midwest
West (By God) Virginia - Appalachia
Florida - It's own world, too big and diverse to add to another region
                          Arizona - Southwest

...And I can identify with them all.

I also broke into an impromptu verse of Country Roads.... Good catch on that, I was hoping someone would notice!
