Its coming. As a matter of fact, Its already here.

My question is are you just some power hungry authority obsessed thug, or are you a civil servant that uses his/her head and lives up to the OATH you took? Even if you feel that guns are not necessary in a utopian civilized world, we are far from it. This is not the time to be discussing "a perfect world" because we are definitely not living in it. So, what are you gonna do when your door is kicked in and youre searched and you property is seized? Your wife is carted off for 'subversive literature'?? Illegal road check points where you are illegally searched, arrested without charge and held indefinitely for speaking your mind, etc.....If there is no free exercise of 2A, how do you fight back against that? How do you fight true tyranny? Its damn sure not a rally or a sit in. You better hope the fellas with the guns are on your side. You better hope we are discussing it, and on the side of liberty, instead of blindly following orders and confiscating your property, treating you like an animal, and sending you to that FEMA camp.

PLease urge everyone you know in the service to THINK ABOUT THIS. It is imperative. By the time youre told "Hey, go knock on those doors in that subdivision and confiscate all firearms. If they resist, take care of it....for safety", you have better already thought the scenario through and know what your response will be.

Well said. Before anyone else comments I would suggest that you actually read this link and understand the concept of Vampire Killer 2000. It goes into great depth of what this NWO is all about and I guarantee you that you won't like it if you appreciate your liberties. Please go to the link and actually read it. It is nothing new, this has been in the works for MANY years. And slowly they are taking our liberties away. Will you sit there idolly by while they put a chip implant in your ass too? Under the guise of social medicine or some immigration control.

Man I urge all of you members to go to the link and any others that might explain to you better what this is all about. PLEASE.

However Condors questions are directed mostly to the armed forces and poliice. They will have to decide whether the follow their commanding officers orders or stand by the constitution. Tough choice when one of the choice means you may lose your life and such.

This is way too deep for me to try and get all details accross. So please do some research.

    http://www.geocities.com/c_ansata/nwo48.html

On the bright? side Condor.....The authorities may have to simply hire the organized gangs to round up all the guns and such from the citizens. Of course, while the world is in turmoil the gangs will have permission to rape, steal and plunder.........that will be their incentive to cooperate with the government.

read and learn, the NWO will be here one day. And I hope I'm dead and gone before then because then you can all bite me. Cuz by that time all you will have to eat me and other people aka "soilent green". If you aren't hiding and/or have the arms to take the food you need, you are going to starve.

OK call me crazy but I heard this originally and personally from high level military leaders that were in charge of setting up training camps for "urban warfare" for OUR troops to train in, IN OUR COUNTRY. Man I just don't want to get into this crap. My suggestion is to learn as much as possible and buy guns that use NATO ammo. And as much ammo as possible. If you bother to learn about this you will know why NATO guns and ammo are most important.

One more thing, I'm sure you all have heard about the secret police in black uniforms with black helicopters and all that. Well, OUR GOVERNMENT had an experiment about 10 years ago and invaded Porto Rico with these guys and equipment to collect all the guns. This did happen, it was on CNN very early one morning. I saw it, it was freaking scarry. After the first broadcast leaked out our government put the clamps down on the network and this whole operation was NEVER heard about again. Thanks to the government.

search, read, learn, understand, prepare as best you can. The time is coming. And EVERYONE will have to make decisions with no pleasant results.

    Great chart Sal.
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

Why are we so blind to this? It's the "There's no way it could happen to ME / HERE" line of thinking. Get your heads out of the sand. Its not like once great societies have never fallen into corruption, chaos, and revolution from the heights of decadence. Nope, that has never happened in history. Those who do not know history are doomed to repeat it. Its cliche, but its true. Wake up. This is a country that has already had one civil war. Do you think about that? Brother vs. brother. Most probably didnt think that was going to happen before it happened either. They had their heads in the sand thinking "It wont get that bad. Not HERE". OPEN YOUR EYES.

I don't think that's true. The point is that there are some people in government, law enforcement, and military who are willing to forgo the rights afforded to us under the Constitution in order to achieve their own agenda.

The Civil Rights Movement and war protests of the 60's are perfect examples of this. What right does the government have to use fire hoses and dogs on a peaceful march? What right did the National Guard have to gun down unarmed war protesters at Kent State? It would be nice to think that as a society we have learned our lesson, but in my humble opinion we appear to be backsliding.

Just a good ol' boy's take...The government looks to be expanding and gobbling up every opportunity it has at more power. Then there is the talk of weakening military funding, apollogizing for being arrogant, mandatory civilian national security force, capping executive pay and all the other endless bull that I could think of and I don't support or agree with any of it. America needs its good people's voice right now. WE are the one's who made this nation what it is and it's just as much up to us average joes to make sure it stays that way as it is anyone. Not government. Big government = Big shit. Just as it has been many times before, I believe government is the problem, not the solution. The people that can't see that there is something wrong going on are either blind or just don't give a damn. That saddens me.

Don't know much about the topic, but one thing is certain. Dictatorships always started with taking private guns away from citizens, this happened in Nazi Germany, Soviet Russia, Communist China, Cambodia and elsewhere.

I really want law enforcement and military to weigh in. We really need to discuss this.

I agree with you completely, I was in the 82nd airborne for a while and have recently been toying with the idea of possibly engaging in a career as an officer in the Los Angeles Police Department, and sometimes I think about how crazy the world has become and wonder if our service men/women will ever have to face a scenario where they are told to turn on American citizens or to put them in FEMA camps against there will.

I can't say I dont believe there are sheep who would follow such an order.

Absolutely wrong, and there is nothing more the evil in power would love more than to take away guns from law obiding citizens and only allow them to be carried by those willing to break the law (criminals)

In todays day, as in our forefathers time, it is each man's god given right to be able to defend himself against evil, and it is our national right to be able to use guns to do so, because you can never take guns out of the hands of criminals as they are too easly circulated. and if there were no guns they would use knifes or whatever else.

                        You're 100% correct.

Just curious, what are the gun laws like in Finland? Are you allowed to own/carry firearms there?

Laws are quite strict. And getting stricter after the recent school killings..

Previously you just needed to be known by the local authorities to be in good reputation, have some friend or relative in a hunting club or something, and you got license, now getting a handgun is getting harder.

In Finland there are 32 privately owned firearms per 100 civilians according to the Finnish Ministry of the Interior. By the end of 2006 there were more than 1.6 million licensed firearms.

Averaged among Finland's population of 5.3 million it comes to 30.5 per 100 people. Unlicensed firearms are estimated at around 1.5 per 100.

There are some 650,000 firearms permit holders in Finland. 60% of firearm permits are issued for hunting weapons. There are an estimated 290,000 handguns, which comes to 5.5 per 100 civilians.

The widely cited Small Arms Survey 2007 by Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva Switzerland claims there are some 3 million firearms in Finland, or 56 per 100 civilians.

Gun crime is rare. Most of it is done by ilegal ones.

Firearms can only be obtained with an acquisition license, which can be applied for at the local police for a fee. A separate license is required for each individual firearm. With the primary licensee's consent, parallel licenses to his firearms can be granted to other persons.

According to law, the firearms must be stored in a locked space or otherwise locked, or with vital parts removed and separated. Even then the weapon or any of its separated parts must not be easily stolen. If an especially dangerous firearm or more than 5 pistols, revolvers or self-loading rifles or other-type firearms are being stored, they must be stored in a certified gun safe or in a secure space inspected and approved by the local police authority.

They may be carried only when they are transported from their place of storage to the place of use (shooting range, hunting area or such). Even then they must be unloaded and concealed or kept in carrying pouches.

Aside from law enforcement agents and military personnel, only security guards with closely defined working conditions, special training and a permit are allowed to carry a loaded gun in public places. The ownership of air-rifles is not regulated but carrying or firing them in public places is not permitted. A crossbow is paralleled to an air rifle in legal matters.

To obtain a firearms license, an individual must declare a valid reason to own a gun. Acceptable reasons include hunting, sports or hobby shooting, profession related, show or promotion or exhibition, collection or museum, souvenir, and signalling. It is worth noticing that self- or home defence are not considered valid reasons. The applicant must provide evidence supporting the acquisition license application to prove that he or she is actually using firearms for the stated purpose(s). Such proof may consist of written declarations from other license holders as referees, shooting diaries or certificates from a shooting club.

According to law, government can't force one to be a member of any club or similar, so if one doesn't belong in one, getting the license is tougher.

The applicant is also subjected to an extensive background check from police accessible databases and even citations for speeding or DUI can be grounds of not granting the license.

Collectors can have special licenses for firearms otherwise not permitted (e.g. pocket guns or select fire weapons). These are usually issued based on the collector's previous record of gun ownership, but ultimately the issuing of licenses is at the local police's discretion.

Conversely, a license for a pistol or a rifle is relatively easy to obtain, although the police usually require that the first gun is suitable for a beginner (usually a gun chambered in .22LR or single shot shotgun).

                            Awesome response, thanks.

While strict, the laws at least make it possible to own a firearm. I don't agree with the regulations though, and that's just the American in me that makes it hard to accept that gun ownership is a "privilege" instead of a "right".

I believe that this is the type of regulation that Obama is shooting for, no pun intended. And I hate to drum up the whole "cold, dead hands" thing, but, you know...
