    US Smokeless Website

    I know of a few folks on here still use a pinch of American smokeless tobacco now and then. I see that US Smokeless has re-designed their website. It has much more information on it. Including ingredients, and nicotine content for their products. Very interesting.

    Thanks for the link. other than dry snuff I don't use American brands, but it's interesting none the less.

        One of my favorite flavored dips is Skoal Vanilla blend...

        Ingredients:
        * Water
        * Tobacco
        * Salt (Sodium Chloride)
        * Natural and Artificial Flavors
        * Sodium Citrate
        * Ammonium Chloride
        * Ammonium Carbonate
        * Propylene Glycol
        * Sodium Carbonate
        * Sodium Saccharin

        Sounds pretty scary to me.

          Ingredients:
          * Water= snus
          * Tobacco= snus
          * Salt (Sodium Chloride)=snus
          * Natural and Artificial Flavors=snus
          * Sodium Citrate- common food ingredient, not used in snus AFAIK
          * Ammonium Chloride- Common food ingredient, boost nicotine absorption, not used in snus AFAIK
          * Ammonium Carbonate- I think for the same reason as above, not used in snus
          * Propylene Glycol-E1520, same as snus
          * Sodium Carbonate=E500, same as snus
          * Sodium Saccharin, in some snus'(probably)

          Sounds pretty scary to me.
          That's not so different from snus

            This list of ingredients is not as bad as I would have thought, IMO.

              It's the two ammonium's that concern me. Does snus contain those ingredients?

                Where's my fiberglass!?!!!?

                Thats pretty cool that they list it, and you're right--very close to snus. I had imagined all kinds of evil in it

                  You'll have to do your own research on that, but I've had European salmiak candy that has ammonium chloride(gives it a pungent flavor). I don't think it's bad for you.

                    I feel much better about my occasional foray into American smokeless tobacco.

                    Thank you!

                      :lol: I'm just glad we can finally put that myth to bed permanently. Regardless of how many times I've tried to convince acquaintances of the lack of fiberglass in American smokeless, most remained convinced of it's inclusion.

                      Idiots.

                          USST was bought out by Altria, so their information will be disclosed. The site is almost identical to www.pmusa.com As well, the prices have dropped for Skoal and Copenhagen down to $3.79 per can.
