So it's either the sun or that goddamned groundhog, 'cause it refuses to get warm here in WI...

      Sun of a bitch
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

I blame Al Gore personally, hes made warming trends not cool and now the sun is throwing a tantrum.

It was over 100º here in Arizona yesterday. Should be the same again today and then it drops to a cooler 96º by the weekend.

Yeah. I'm originally from the Bay and all of my family up north from you said the same thing this week.

I just checked current temps and LA is 20º cooler than where I am in AZ as I'm typing this up. Then again, we don't get the humidity that you guys do.

It's a chilly 90 degrees here in Denton, Texas today. I can just about see my breath.

You like that better than Washington? I'd be ready to kill myself before a year was up :^(

Actually, it hasn't been this hot until recently. I moved here in November and it was pretty cold. There were times when it got far colder than Portland. There was an absence of snow, but there were a few times where the roads froze over.

I can handle a summer's worth of heat. During the summer, I function on a mostly nocturnal schedule. The nights around here are awesome. It's the heat of the day that I avoid. I grew up in southern California. It gets pretty hot there during the summer time. I learned how to deal with heat early on.

I moved to Texas primarily because of the low cost of living and the amount of open space. I love driving around in Texas. Lots of roads and lots of emptiness. For me, the summer heat is worth dealing with to be able to live in such a place.

Plus, there are no Waffle Houses in the Pacific Northwest.

I don't know how summers are in TX but here (AZ), it cools down to around 105 at night time (which I guess you can say is cool compared to 120 during the day). You might be able to find a Waffle House, but you'll never be able to fine a Mo's Chowder here in the desert Southwest. Also I think Oregon has plenty of open space (of a different scenery), I can't wait to move back someday!

I'd consider moving back to Oregon someday, but not one of the big cities. Portland was okay for a while, but I've come to the conclusion that major cities aren't for me. I'd totally move to some isolated Oregon town. Places like Drain and the little towns on/near the coast are stunning. Eastern Oregon is cool too. I'd totally disappear into someplace like Fossil.

I have nothing against Oregon as a whole. Portland just wasn't for me. I'd visit it again and have a good time for a week or so, but living in it was kind of a pain in the ass.
