No more "Log me in automatically" checkbox?

I haven't been around very often for a while and now it seems I can't stay logged in like I could before.
I checked the cookies and they're set to expire after every session.
The forum FAQ says "check the 'Log me in automatically' checkbox when logging in". But the checkbox isn't there!
    WTF's up with that?

yeah, I noticed this too - it happened after the change of board style. I made my own login page to get around it. You can log in here to try it out :

Thanx I just logged in again using your improvised site. Lets see if this works.
Dude, not staying logged in SUXX man.

On an other note: I realized that with this clever piece of social engineering you could've totally rigged your page to phish or otherwise screw with my browser through XSS or something else. I had to disable my No-Script FF plugin.
      [clueless luser attitude]
But hey, atleast I'm logged in again

Well, all I could have stolen is your username and password - but as a moderator I can change/edit all your posts anyways, so there wouldn't be much point, lol. Good point, though.

          Yeehaw! It worksss....

...and yeah, I think many of us around here are more of the nerdy-kind somehow*.
Intelligently evaluating other nicotine delivery systems. Nothing like a big bad IBM coming back from the brink in the 80's and reasserting itself in the new millennium as the prime deliverer of big iron, once proclaimed to be "dead".
Just like snus in the 60's/70's huh?

*even though I'm absolutely not "a computer type". The closest I ever got to being a nerd was a 9.4 out of 10 on my high school end report card for chem. with the rest much lower.

 Think you're right about people in here. And I even think it might be just that, that makes me so fond of this place. I'm not talking about being good at computers ... its about the curious and slightly scientific approach on the world of snus, the endless investigative posts and weird discoveries. Thats exactly what makes it fun IMO. I guess I'm kind of a nerd myself, but its hard to apply in here since its mostly concentrated on literature and poetry (no, I'm not gonna write a frigging poem about snus :P).

Oh, by the way, Craig ... good to 'see' you again. I scored 13 out of 13 in physics once 8)

            Subtilo signing out ... drunk & high rolling on N & J

Nah, I do stuff like that all the time. Look ten minutes for the keys that are in my pocket - ask someone the time while I'm staring at a clock... I'm hoping to get some sort of USB stick for my head.
