Just released and still in its infant stages so not fun for most people, but heres how it works:
Google takes key words you search for and gives youa list of pages relevant to your querry, now its up to you to read them and compile the ifnormation.
Wolfram|Alpha Uses math to find the information and process it in real time. For example if I want to know the position of the hubble telescope right now I might not be able to find that on google unless NASA said where it was in a press release a minute ago or has a real-time tracker on their website. If I ask WA it will find the trajectory etc and plot it on a map for me and tell me everything else about it including trajectory etc.
If I put in an IP address it plots it on a map, gives a grid location and says who it is registered to etc.
Its mainly for math and science, it can solve any equation near instantly and can draw you fractals etc.
Fund to play with, has a whole list of examples to choose from if you dont get how to use it.
Its mainly for math people so dont o trying to use it as a search engine, but I think in the future this concept of taking info from the net and assembling all relevant info onto one neatly organized page which is saveable as a PDF is going to show promise.
Let me know if you guys find this cool or if this is only for nerds.
