All kinds of stuff. Folk, blues, jazz, outsider music, experimental music, early industrial (see Throbbing Gristle), math rock, post rock, black metal, grindcore, etc., etc. I like a little bit of everything, and that includes the oft hated country and hip-hop.
I can't stand modern pop music. That's about the only thing I refuse to listen to.
How much time do we have...lol! I have the strangest tastes in music! I'll name artists i like so you can see...Dimmu Borgir, Carpathian Forest...ya know what genres are quicker...Black metal, Melodic Black and Death metal, Grindcore, Metalcore, Thrash metal, Post Alternative, Post Grunge, Doom metal, Reggae, Reaggae Dub, Folk Rock, Ska, Punk, Hardcore Punk, Funk, Gothic Metal, Industrial, Rockabilly, Psychobilly, Blues, Acoustic, Jam Bands, 80's Metal, Old Classic Country, Screamo Alternative. My ADD affects all aspects of my life! My musical mood may change month to month, week to week, or day to day! I guess my main would be the different sub genres of black metal, but the past week or so i've been listening to My Chemical Romance and The Used!
I like old school death metal ala Carcass and "newer" stuff like Amon Amarth and Norther (anyone else heard of these guys?). I actually like a lot of types of music but If I a choice, it's probably gonna have kick ass riffs and singers I cannot understand.
I tend to lean on relaxing stuff...mellow Jazz and instrumentals, acoustic rock and alternative, indie music is a must, and I guess some of the softer type rock/metal/jam band, I do like some raggea and a few other generes...but only select artists.
My current play list includes.... Matt Nathanson, Ani Defranco, The Used, MCR, Pearl Jam, Bob Marley, HIM (one or two songs), Tori Amos, Fiona Apple, and many more....
I'm a chick...gimme a guitar, a smooth voice, and meaningful lyrics and I'm happy!

Old Carcass was great. I prefer old death metal myself. New stuff is mainly garbage.
Well i dig many of genres, metal (i don't separate the metals into categories), Rock (hard, classic, alternative and oldies like the 50's guess if one were to categorize) country, reggae, some hippity hop (beastie boys only because they are really funny).
Hate dance/rave/tech-no/gangster rap- crap. Then again, i haven't found a band i liked beyond the 90's. The bands i do enjoy have produced great music beyond the 90's but the new crap out there isn't my bag. Especially the metal scene it horrible!!!!

Love those bands.
If you want to hear a great technical death metal band, that is new, listen to Arsis. I bought their "We are the Nightmare" CD and its absolutely amazing the stuff those guys put together. The singer is the lead guitarist, and their drummer is so insanely good.
