This morning was an interesting mix. The first half of my drive to work was the first few tracks off Amon Amarth (fate of norms album) to get me fired up and ready to work. The second half of the drive was some Portishead to mellow me out to be able to deal with customers all day.

Now that im here at work, I am forced to listen to the counry station over the muzak system. Makes me want to gouge my eardrums out.

Right now it's Khartoum Variations by Jandek. Picked it up yesterday at Jackpot Records downtown. Amazing. Harrowing and painful and beyond depressing, but truly amazing.

Currently really enjoying the Viking metal/progressive band "Týr", highly recommended for anyone into Norse history or heavier proggressive rock (no cookie monster vocals at all, that can be a big turnoff for some)

 I like the bands with cookie monster vocals. Actually, I like a fairly broad range of music (I played bass in a few bands years ago covering several genres) but focusing on scandinavian bands, I dig: Darkthrone, Emperor, Burzum, Desultory, etc.

Those are definitely an acquired taste for most.

Currently listening to Ludwig Van's 5th. My favorite pandora.com channels are string ensembles and the pogues (includes flogging molly, dubliners, tossers, men they couldnt hang etc)
