What are you listening to right now?

Any big music buffs out there?

Currently really enjoying the Viking metal/progressive band "Týr", highly recommended for anyone into Norse history or heavier proggressive rock (no cookie monster vocals at all, that can be a big turnoff for some)

I'm listening to a Sibelius Violin Concerto right now. I also like jazz, some pop, Celtic and ethnic music. No metal for me

My son listens to a lot of European metal music. I believe I've seen Tyr around here. The postman must wonder about us getting all the packages from Europe.

I'm a new member here, new to snus and been browsing the forums for the past day or so. I'll post a longer intro about my indoctrination with snus, but just wanted to pipe in on this thread.

Big fan of electronic music. I listen to lots of glitch, IDM and such, plus many other forms of electronic music. At the moment, I'm heavy into drone, particularly artists like Monos, Darren Tate, Colin Potter, Paul Bradley, etc. Good stuff.

I imagine you're all familiar with Pan Sonic, yes? Finland's gift to electronica, and a glorious gift they are.

At the moment, I'm shuffling a couple of Bob Schneider albums. Bob+Snus is putting me in a good mood to push through some hard work

These days my playlist contains: Darkthrone (no), Nachtmystium (us), Nocternity (gr), Xasthur (us), Inquisition (us), Leviathan (us), Verdunkeln (de), Forgotten Woods (no), Dødheimsgard (no), Mgla (pl), Heresi (se) and S.V.E.S.T. (fr)

Darkthrone is the pitome of old school norwegain black metall
asn I also recognize leviathan. When I listen to black metall I listen to
immortal. the costumes are funny as hell, but the music is good as well.

resently there has been a lot of zz top, Robin Trower
                    and other blue rock acts.
Along with early van halen and the other bands that I always listen to.
Jeff Beck, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Rainbow,Black sabbath and others.

and some jazz fusion and blues mixed in.

My preferences are scattered across many genres. At the moment I'm listening to:

Casiotone for the Painfully Alone - sketchy electronics tunes based on battery driven keyboards.

Trentemøller - Danish electronica swinging between epic soundscapes and hard dub-like beatstructure.

Kliché - early Danish synth/electronica pop (early 80's).

Beethoven - Piano Concerto Nr. 1 & 5 performed by The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

Thelonious Monk - w. John Coltrane at Carnagie Hall.

                          "Heavy Weather" - Weather Report.

R.I.P. Joe Zawinul, deceased 11.9.07 - A seminal pioneer in electronic keyboards and a brilliant composer.

Yeah, saw that on the news yesterday. I did recognize the tunes as they showed some snippets of live shows he made and such, but I didn't know the band or the musician. It's not really my taste but I can always sit down, close my eyes and appreciate a fine piece of music when I hear it.

Enjoy the Cornish guy (Aphex Twin). Tend to listen to downtempo more, specifically Zero 7.

Some days just call for Sabbath, Tool, System of a Down, and others, to be sure.
