Thanks. Oh we love the solos! We had a new guy do them this time, but he had to move after recording. It's not the final mastered version yet. But I do find the youtube sound is not as good and clear as the CD I have.

I'll leak another song in a week or so.

We have 11 new songs done for the new album. I think this Hellegion is a rocker. Opinions?
I have never been a big fan of punk, about as close as I can get to punk influence is Darkthrone and early Carpathian Forest.

I see now what you mean by a 1st wave black metal feel. Venom was the first thing that came into my mind. And once again, I'd say your vocal style reminds me of early Tom Araya.

I think the choice to use the repetitive main riff throughout and keeping the song at about the 2 1/2 minute mark, was a smart choice as it delivers the song in one quick punch.

As far as the solo goes, I'm not sure yet. At first listen, the solo kind of seemed out of place. But then again, how many times has Hanneman inserted a solo into a song that seemed to be there just for solo sake. Those Slayer songs are now cult classics. Second listen through the solo seemed to fit in a little better.

If I was a fan of thrashy punk, I think I would probably dig the album. I'm not current on the punk scene, but if it's anything like the metal scene, I'm sure there is plenty of punk fans that would love to see a comeback of the raw, old school stuff.

      Good luck!

Thanks. My biggest influence and my fave bands are the bands I grew up in my influencial years, Venom, Sodom, Celtic Frost, Bathory, Motorhead, and punk, like Black Flag, Dead Kenndys, The Exploited, and Discharge, among others. When I write songs, I try to write what I would like myself, as a fan. I believe I succeed in this. The new album is very varied, it's of course my style that permeates, but it's not all death, or black metal topics, I have an anti-war song, a Motorhead inspired song, one song inspired by the movie Grey Gardens, and various stuff.

I listened to couple of your tunes Tom. I won't give a critique, as I'm not qualified. It's so far away from what I listen to, it wouldn't be fair to your music. That being the case, I'm not sure why I replied, but I guess it's to tell you to keep on keeping on :^)

The new Soundgarden song "Black Rain". It's the rare comeback where you cannot distinguish the old from the new. I'm really excited about this as they were my favorite band 12 years ago. Can't wait to hear the full album. Chris Cornell shat the bed with that Audioslave bullshit, but this is right back where he belongs. I love it.

Thank you Roo. I had no idea Soundgarden had a new album on the way let alone a new song released. I absolutely love that band. I'll check that song out after my post.

deadohsky, their new single defies all expectations and totally rips. Blue, as much as the White Stripes piss me off when they come on my ipod on shuffle, a buddy took me to a show a few years back on some free tickets he won, and I left thinking only one thing: this man is keeping the live rock and roll show alive and well. He plays those guitars like a mother****er. And I kinda have the hots for Meg.

New ASTRUM again, I have it in the computer. Someone said it sounds like a cleaner version of Hellhammer, which is fine by me. I love Hellhammer.

                                Rock as I saw it.
There was the grunge scene and then just years of a bunch of crap. I dont want to name names but your typical rock station sounded like the same band playing all day and all night long. If it were not for a few of the older bands kicking out stuff and some of the new one's like the White Stripes I think the scene would of collapsed on itself. It's still a mess but I am far more enjoying the talent now over the late 90's early 2000's.
