Burzums - New album Belus, pretty good cd. My favorite though is Filosofem.

Mine too. But the new one is good. I like how his quitar style/songs have an atmospheric hypnotic thing about them. Kinda why I like Darkthrone's Transilvanian Hunger.

I'm starting to notice a common denominator in some of my music. If the band has a hot chick in it, I dig it, i.e. Theatre of Tragedy (Liv Kristine), Tristania (Vibeke Stene), Draconian (Lisa Johanssen), and what I'm listening to now, The Sins of Thy Beloved (Anita Auglend).

Not so much what I'm listening to now, but there are three new releases coming out this fall. Cradle of Filth- Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa, Dimmu Borgir- Abrahadabra, and Enslaved- Axioma.

I've listened to Cradle's Lilith Immaculate single, and I'm still disappointed. I'll have to listen to the whole album when it comes out, but it's still just more of the same "Hot Topic-Mall Rat" style from the last two albums. I don't think they will ever return to the days of Dusk or Midian. At this point, I would settle for a Nymphetamine style.

Dimmu's new single Gateways, I am also a little disappointed in. It sounds better than the material from In Sorte Diaboli, but it's still stuck in the Death Cult Armageddon era. Very, very layered and way too busy, overdone. Orchestra takes precedence over guitar, and the Gateways video is just outright embarrassing IMO. Longing for the days of Black Dimensions and Enthrone Darkness. Although Puritanical was pretty good.

It seems to be that the best release is going to be from Enslaved. It is just epic viking metal with a psychedelic Pink Floyd feel to it.

Enslaved are a great band, Vertebrae was brilliant. Really looking forward to the new cd. Listening to Celtic frost - Circle of tyrants at the moment.

I love anything from At The Heart Of Winter and onward. I did however like Pure Holocaust and Diabolical Full Moon Mysticism. I think Mountains Of Might is the only song I like from their Blizzard Beast/Battles In The North days.

I liked Extinguishing the Light. That main riff is going to play through my head all day now. Kind of an industrial black/death metal blend. Ministry comes to mind.

Thanks, we were trying for an industrial Beherit sound.

A band I just recently stumbled upon, and I love it. Innovative, cold, dark, and epic.
