I find this band interesting, not sure if I like the singing mix on vocals. They just played the club right across the street from me the other day.

Immortal is one of my top fave bands. I love 'em. And I am glad I got to see them live for their Sons of Northern Darkness tour, and even took some pics. They also just released a pro-shot live DVD at Wacken 2007, which I got. Cheesy? Yes, but in a GREAT way. I also like how they have their own original mythology, and not just parroting the tired Satan lyrics and image.

I agree that Immortal's whole Blashyrkh concept is refreshing in comparison to the "Hail Satan" theme. Don't get me wrong, I love "Hail Satan" music as long as it's done intelligently with some genuine intellect and not just for the shock factor.
Very few bands are truly satanic/luciferian. Gorgoroth, Glorior Belli, and Deicide are a few of the more successful ones which come to mind as being genuine.
Have you ever checked out Abaath's side project "I"? The album is called Between Two Worlds and it's amazing. More in the vain of classic heavy metal with a Motorhead feel to it.
