My favorite band right now is actually a tango orchestra. All young people that could have formed a rock band, united to assembly an orchestra outside all the seriousness and formality of classical music. They are part of the new wave of tango that is rising in Argentina. In the ’80 seemed like tango was something from the past, related to old people or something done for tourist. That has changed a lot. The “Orquesta Típica Fernández Fierro” opened it own bar (it’s 5 minutes from my apartment so, I go there a lot) and they play there every week (if they’re not in tour). Don’t miss it if you ever go to Buenos Aires! Or if it’s playing in your city!
This 4 minutes video presents the band, an has great part of the “flavors” of Buenos Aires (including trouble with the police, as usual)
