    I got an iPhone

My wife brought me home a iphone 3Gs yesterday. It is the best thing ever. I had it jailbreaked and loaded down with apps and games by this morning.

I have not really ever played with one before and I must say I am impressed with how powerful it is.

Ehh, another one bites the dust and buys a fruit phone.

    Lol, j/k :P

I will admit that they are fun to play with, but I just don't do Apple. They also just seem to ignore simple things that need to be addressed. It seems like they release a new one every year, and all they do is increase the storage and make a few minor, irrelevant tweaks. Crackberry all the way for me!

I've had one for about 8 months (and I just got a 3GS too) and I have to say that aside from a few small issues, it is a great business device too!

I get tons of emails a day, I manage 10 business units and it is pretty cool, especially now that the 3.0 firmware is out.

My wife swears by her blackberry, but I think it is a more than acceptable smart phone that is fun to use too.

Not to hijack the thread, but what is the warranty on one of those? My buddy has had one for less than a month and he has already cracked the screen. I know a few other people with screen-damaged iphones, but they all just seem to be dealing with it instead of trying to replace their phones. Does the carrier take care of it or do you have to contact Apple?

All repairs go through Apple. There is also no regular phone insurance like a normal handset.

I did buy the insurance from Best Buy though. it's expensive (like $14 per month) but if it breaks, they replace it at the location.

Have them google iphone screen repair. There are lots of options that are not that expensive.

Oh, and tell em to take better care of their phones :P

Ok, that does make sense; I'm pretty sure I've heard that's how it works but I couldn't remember.

As far as taking care of their phones....these are friends who work on cars all day and beat on crap on a daily basis; I'm surprised their phones lasted as long as they did! I would not trust them to handle anything with glass in it as it is.

I just got a 32 GB 3G S as well, and I absolutely love it. It's a great phone and I now know why they are so popular... they are fantastic devices. Enjoy your new iPhone, I know I am!

Just watch out. Apple (or the little kids in china) screwed up making them, and they have issues overheating.

I got me one of those 3Gs iphones too. I must say that despite me being an itunes hater and not a fan of apple and their elitest mac's, I love the damn phone. It is chock full of a bunch of fun shit. There really is an app for everything especially when you jailbreak it. I was a non-believer untill I actually played with one. They really are the sweetest cell phone out there. Dont get me wrong I loved my Black Berry but it's just not an iphone.

HK11 dont forget to grab your IBEC and IBSS certificates so you can jailbreak it in the future. If you didn't do that before you jailbroke it then you'll have to restore to unjailbroken first but you can just unjailbreak it again.

I had it broken within about 3 hours without even hearing of it first lol. I always hack everything. I didnt get the certs however. No big deal I hope.

Then I hit the groups and downloaded a 6 gig "All apps and games" distro and its loaded with crap

I love the Band app. I walk around all day at work drumming and recording songs.
