Hi all, couldn't find a newbie part so figured i'd post here. Been using snus for a while now. Tried the US camel to see if i'd like the snus thing. After half acan of that stuff i ordered some swedish from GetSnus. Currently i'm working through my third order from them. Really liking the whole snus experience.

I quit cigs last xmas by using an E-Cig after 30 years of smoking. It was on that forum that i found out about snus and figured i'd give it a try. The ecigs are ok but can be a real pain some days. Nothing easier than to just pop in a portion.

I'm still trying the different flavors and types of Snus to find what i like. So far i'm liking General Wintergreen, Roda Lacket White, Goat Rape #2 and Ettans Original. Right now i'm working on a can of Grov White.

Ok time to go browse the forum some more.

My recommendations are Retro, Lucky Strike, JTI Camel, Claq Qui, and of course Nick & Johnny. (all that was really code for "my favorites are" as far as portions go anyway!

I just discovered snus myself about a month and a half ago and so far it's been great discovering one favorite after another. I really haven't hit on one that I don't like yet. It's just a great treat to come home from work and find another order waiting for me.

Thanks for the welcomes guys. I frequent a few other forums on other subjects and find them an invaluable source of information. Have browsed this one a little. Seems to me tha ta lot of the users here like the Los. I'm an ex smoker and tried some dip once ..... ewww. Maybe one day i'll give the los a try but for now the portions are working just fine .
Really liking the Roda Lacket, jury is still out on the goat rape #2.

I'm trying to keep myself to only having 3 cans open at once, although that doesn't always happen.

Badfish, i saw a recommendation to this place from Tropicalbob on the ecig forum, figured i'd come check it out.

I'm just hoping that our firewall at work doesn't block this site. It blocks pretty much anything tobacco or alcohol related. Otherwise i'll only be crusing the forum when i get the chance at home.

TropicalBob was the first guy that I ever heard mention snus as well (small world) but I assumed he just meant snuff - my great grandmother used snuff and I couldn't bring myself to try it. This was a little over a year ago - got my first shipment of real snus today after trying that swill that Camel is hawking.

I know what you mean about the e-cigs, seems like the atomizers last a couple of months and then all the cost savings go out the window & I didn't like having to explain the thing to everyone that saw you use one, snus seems a better alternative and I never quite felt like I was getting the nic fix from e-cigs.

I had a horrible experience with her spit cup getting spilled on me when I was around ~6 or 7. I'm not even sure it was snuff she used - I recall her putting it on the back of her hand and snorting it - so I assume it was nasal snuff, but she also had a spit cup like with typical american oral tobacco. Maybe she used more than one type of product.

Just the word reminds me of the "ick" reaction I got to that experience like it was yesterday. *Shudder*

NO spitting with nasal snuff. Traditional way old people use nasal stuff here in the South is take a stick, whittle it down, then lick the stick, dip it in the snuff, and put the stick in your mouth. Where the term "dipping" comes from. But even then, I don't know if folks spit.

But nasal snuff, taken the traditional way, NO spit. Just a bursts of flavor and feel goodness. Toque snuff is wonderful for new users.

My 74 year old mother has "dipped" Bruton snuff for most of her life, and I've never seen her spit. She used to work in an office and dipped every day. I don't think anybody ever knew it.

T Bob is one knowlegable guy and a constant voice of reason on ECF. He was also the first person i see mention using snus. I just had to check it out.

Glad you are enjoying the Snus experience so far. I've been using it for for around 6 weeks now. I'm about to run out of ecig liquid so will be going 100% snus for a while to test the waters and see how i do with just Snus.
