So, I took my can of GROV White in and the security at the door wanted me to open my "dip" can. When he saw the snus he had a strange look on his face. I explained what it was and he said okay, cool. For a second there though I thought I was gonna get held up and taken in for drug possession. Snus really is still underground in America.

Yeah, in the last three weeks I've been warned at least 20 times about how I traded lung cancer for gum cancer and told how gross spit bottles are.

Did the band invite people up there to play then give their instruments away? They did that at a Green Day/Blink 182 concert here in VB years back.

oh yea. Billy asked if anyone wants to get saved. A little girl who looked about 7 got up there and he whispered in her ear, and he put his hand on her hand and "saved" her. She played along and fell backwords. It was beautiful. He pulled 4 different people on stage to sing Longview, one kid played guitar on Jesus Of Suburbia, and he got a little boy to shoot the crowd with a water gun while he TP'ed us. They played for two and a half hours. I thought I would feel old there, (I've been listening to GD since 94), but there were all ages there.

Green Day has some catchy songs, but this is not "punk".

There pop punk. Great song writers. I listen to everything, The Misfits, Youth Brigade, Minor Threat, Blink 182, The Ataris, nofx, Propagandhi. I don't care about whether or not it's classified as punk.

One of the best stage performances I've ever seen. The only ones to trump it for me were James Taylor and Santana. I don't like Green Day's music much, but they put on a hell of a show.

man ive seen them twice, and it is pretty much the same show. i love green day, have every album, have loved em since i was a tot. but man, i saw them at pop disaster and then again years later on the american idiot tour, and the only real difference was some american idiot songs thrown in. thats the problem with a band that plays night in night out for years. it just becomes formula.

I don't know, I saw them on the Warning tour, and it was a completely different show than the 21st Century. But Watching The Bullet In A Bible DVD of American Idiot, there were a lot of similarities .

I don't care what anyone says, I've been listening to, and defending Green Day for 15 years. I know there not "punk". There pop punk. Just like The Ramones. Yea I said it. I don't classify music but the scene, or what clothes they wear, or if there on a major label or not.

Well at least I'm not alone on this board! You ever heard The Gaslight Anthem? They are amazing. You should youtube them or go to their Myspace.
