Well, of course race is an issue with some of america! There IS, if you choose to see it or not, alot of racism in this country! There are a lot of older timers and younger peoples who are just rasied in the old fashion ways and just can't accept a black person being president!

I think those that do feel that way, are a small minority, but those that feel that way, I think now don't much care, because they see it doesn't matter because nothing changes no matter who the president is. But I do think his being in office has emboldened many of the anti-white racists and radical leftists, which doesn't help with trying to unify the nation.

I knew once he won, it would all be about race, and everyone that disagreed with him on any issue would be branded a racist. And why do so many blacks and non whites think they would be better affected under government liberal socialism? I think they have been lured and misled to believe they are "victims" and think a new system would give them freebies.
RACIST!!!!!!!!
lol, it's true though. Obama becoming the first black president has set back the civil rights movement 100 years. How ironic is it that the first administration with a black President, and a female speaker of the house would also be the one who robbed/ spent all of the countries money and credit, and left us to pay the bill?
Conservatives hated Carter. Did anyone say there wouldn't be any more white presidents?
Allow me to unconfuse you. I dont believe race was a factor in picking him because many whites voted for him and everyone was voting AGAINST bush and the republicans. But since then, liberals seem to claim that race is the reason why people disagree with him, and not because his ideas aren't good. Im saying that the racial tension in America has only INCREASED since he took office, and felt that it was ironic.
My confusion was over the comments that there won't be any more black presidents because of this, or that he has set the civil rights movement back. That suggests that people will tie his political mistakes to his color, and therefore not vote another person of that color into office again...which is the very definition of racism.
Again, many white presidents have messed up, some horribly. Did that stop people from electing white men?

Ah, I see your point now. I said it in a joking fashion, I do not actually believe that a black person will never get elected again. Infact, since we have popped our racial cherry in this country (lol) I think we can expect to see many black presidents in the future, and frankly I couldn't care less.
Its like black people in general, I hate black gang bangers who steal my car radio , but I do like black people who work in my office and are regular people. Its the same with the president. I dont like black presidents who come in and rob my country, but I do like black Presidents that come in and do the right thing, and help the country.
EDIT: Basicly, it shouldnt be a racial issue, and I wish everyone would stop saying that you just dont like his policies because he's black. Its twenty-o-nine, not the 1920's, we should be past this already.
I just want to see someone wh will come in and strip all the excess fat off of government.

Personally, I think Obama comes across and a nice, decent, intelligent guy. I don't find myself agreeing with his world sociopolitical view very often though. I don't think the racial implications are so much that he is of a certain race, but because he is along with his connections and supports from a variety of more radical left leaning race playing groups and people, that try, and sometimes do, with his cabinit.
I did not vote for Obama. But I was always hoping Colin Powell would have run, as I would have happily voted for him, even though I don't agree 100% with everything he says.
So, I would be happy to have anyone of any race take office, if they did not have racially polarizing baggage, and a too leftist big government control national vision.

Well I personally believe the forefathers made it clear that having a pris is a god-given right, and one protected by the constituion. Therefore I suggest we have a "government snus option" to help level out the playing field. It will cost us a $1.8 trillion down-payment, but it will allow everyone, including the 50 million people currently in lack of a pris, to be able to live with this essential service.
