I'm a huge gamer. I just got the new MoH for PC on release. I can't wait for fallout new vegas too, that game is going to be sick. I used to play a lot of MW2 but it became too easy, and the lack of dedicated servers sucks.

Other than that I still play Counter-Strike in leagues. hahaha

Lol, yes I do sir! I have accrued the maximum amount of vacation days ( like 3 weeks) and so I start losing them if I don't take them. My wife doesn't get vacation days at her work so I can't actually ever use a block of days to take a vacation. So every month or so I take one on a monday to make it a 3 day weekend etc. This month i'm using it to make sure I get fallout first thing in the AM baby! Then i'm going to chill at home and play it without blinking, and neglect to feed or cloth myself.

So today has been quite a treat. Was first in line to get fallout:new vegas at my local gamestop, here's my review so far:

BUY IT. I was hoping they would literally just make another fallout 3 in a new world and that's essentially what they've done. There is not a single negative thing I can say. The world is MUCH more colorful than the grey/black world from fallout 3, and it is the same sized map but there is MUCH more going on. Also it has a somewhat overt cowboy theme which works well I think.

You can upgrade weapons by adding silencers, extended magazines etc, but other than that the entire game and interface are the same.

For those who buy it, protip: Make sure your character starts out with a high "speech" level, as it becomes relevant in the first mission of the game.

Anyways, best game of the year by far, must get back to playing it.

I was going to get this game today but I had a shipment from Northerner coming in that had to be signed for (and of course UPS called and said they be here between 8AM and 7PM, then they get here at 5PM). So I'm just going to get it tomorrow after work. Either way, I want that game!

So played it for quite a while yesterday and yah I am thuroughly impressed. It is absolutely massive, i'll be playing this for months. And there is definite replay value as there are a few different ways to go about the story, even over and beyond the good/evil thing.

                Some new features:

There is slightly more item management, which I don't particularly like but it does add substance to the game.
For example, you can now reload rounds, so on top of picking up bullets you will also be picking up shell casings, gunpoweder of various types, charges, etc etc. It is actually kind of complicated but still cool.

You can also collect plants like in Oblivion and use campfires thruought the land to cook them into things.

A big difference here is that all the random junk you come across like abraxo cleaner, turpentine etc is all valuable in this game, but it's difficult at first because all that stuff takes up stace in your bag so i'm not really utilizing the custom made stuff yet.

There is a new skill catagory, "survival". This decides how many recipes you get for the campfire. Again I am not using this feature at all at the moment, it's too much item management.

Weapon upgrades: You can now upgrade your favorite weapons with extras like bigger clips and sniper scopes.

Diffiuclty: I think this one is much harder. For example if you come across a deathclaw you are dead, they are near invincible. Why are tehy near invincible you ask:

NEW FEATURE: Weapons have both DPS (Damage per second), which is how much damage they do, and DAM (damage threshold), that determines howmuch punch a bullet. has. Basically you will be able to change ammunition types, like for example hollow points for non-armored guys and armor-piecing rounds forarmored guys. Each have their advantage and disadvantage. Again this adds heavily to the item management part.

HARDCORE MODE: This made is not for the faint of heart. It makes ammo have weight, and you have to stay hydrated (it's the desert so being out in the sun kills you almost instantly with no water). Also you can't fix your own limbs without going to the DR etc. But if you beat it on hardcore it says you get a special reward at the end.

Glitches: I noticed that NV is SLIGHTLY less polished than FA3. Radscorpions often get stuck in the ground etc, but not very noticible.

This game is so massive, and I can't emphasize enough how much having a high speech thign is worth. You gaina major advantage if you cane talk people into things.

Also there are more companions, you can often times strongarm people to be your companions for certain missions, and they are less useless than they were in FA3.

Also a lot of other "collecting" things, like there are special blue star bottlecaps you can collect for some treasure, and apparently there is some lottery going on in vegas too. I had some scene where a guy came by saying he won the lottery and then tried to run away.I capped him and took his ticket so now i'm trying to figure out where to go cash it out lol.

Anyways, this is the best game of the year, and perhaps of Xbox history, right alongside FA3, oblivion etc. It's exactly the level of depth and quality you would expect, and the environment is much richer than FA3

EDIT: Another thing is that the beginning is really hard. Like you only get these crappy guns and almost no ammo. I guess they want you to break down your good ammo into reloaded ammo which gives youa higher quanity, but wears on your gun faster. So make sure you have a high repair skill as your shit needs to be fixed often.

I got Rock Band 3 a week early. The keyboard Pro mode (which is note for note accurate with the treble clef of a real piano) is extremely hard. I play piano for real and it's kicking my ass.

Yah it's the greatest game of the year for sure. I chose mainly strength and speech. I can talk my way out of everything or shoot my way out if necessary. I am doing this as a "good" run, where I don't steal things and do everything legit, and for the "choices" you get at the end, I am going with a independent gov and siding with NCR against the legion though.

I have beaten every quest in the game I can find even though I already killed Mr House, but I know there are more quest somewhere. Ive had 4 companions and completed all of their side quests too.

Next time i'm going to do what you did and put more into my luck, at the casinos I cannot win EVER right now. Money isn't an issue for me either but money doesn't seem to play a super big role in the game, there are some good guns to buy but most are found. Find the brotherhood of steel bunker and kill their guys, then sell all of their power armor and you have pretty much unlimited money.

I am thinking on my next one I am going to go all unarmed/melee, high luck, and side with one faction, then on all subsequent playthroughs I am going to side with a different faction and use a different weapons/perk set.

I'm operating under the assumption that this, one of the longest living and most commented-on threads, is so dead right now because everyone is too busy playing Fallout New Vegas. If so than carry on. If not, than go play Fallout New Vegas.

Anyone else play any COD BO yet? It is not worth even playing online. What a waste of money. All the multiplayer maps are little sandboxes with no strategy involved. Looks like I am back to Bad Company 2 even with the punkbuster issues it is a much better game IMO. COD is essentially thrown together with very little effort anymore.

Haven't dropped the cash on it yet. Everyone I know has been telling me how bad ass it is, urging me to get it.......this is the first negative review I've seen. Guess I'll wait a while and look into it more before I spend the dough.

I hear there is a new iNFAMOUS coming out, and a new Arkham Asylum, I'll be getting both those. :^P
