See so many people love this bourbon, but I'm not a fan either. I'd drink Jim Beam 7yr before Makers Mark. I prefer Woodford Reserve, but in a pinch I love me some Jim Beam. Every once in awhile I'll drink a good scotch, several years ago a few of my employees went in and bought me a bottle of Glenfiddich 21yr Scotch Whiskey. I've had about half the bottle in about 4yrs, and only drink it on special ocassions.

Side note: My wife drinks Vodka, and I absolutely hate it. Tastes like what I'd imagine rubbing alcohol would taste like. However, there is a vodka out there that is called "3" and it's a soy vodka, and it's very smooth with (and I mean this) NO taste. Very interesting to say the least.

Being an Italian film fan of the 70's, I started buying J&B a lot. I haven't had any in a while, but I guess it's OK, but I always had to mix it with something. It seems every 70's Italian film has bottles of J&B in them, and some other thing called Punt Minz, or something like that.

Did not mean to beat up the Makers but I am still starting out on the whiskey train so I might grow into it. The strong corn husk mash taste I think was what put me off if I compared it to the Four Roses which only had hints of corn and I found much better.

J&B, Beam, Jameson and Jack Gentlemen are on the list to try!

            Tried Jameson last night.

First for a Irish Whiskey. With my first sip on the rocks I noticed a strong grainy/barley sweetness. The bite was very minimal and Similar to the Mark but without the corn. It was definately a thick spirit because it yellowed my mix of club soda and ginger strickingly. The buzz on this stuff is absolutely fantastic. It hits strong/energetic and stays that way. Split a bottle between a couple of friends and everybody was in a really good mood. Liked this one so much I might bring a bottle of this for opening fishing this weekend.

Has anyone had Powers Irish Whiskey. If you haven't, do try it. Good Irish Whisky. Nice and Smooth. I prefer it over Jamesons. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Powers_(whiskey)

LMAO at your signature BigBlue1! haha. That is creepy. Powers is good, but for some reason I've never purchased a bottle. I'll take Irish whiskey over Jack or Beam or blended whiskeys any day, but lately I've been gravitating toward good bourbon like Woodford Reserve, Ridgemont Reserve, Corner Creek, and I'm a sucker for Wild Turkey.

Bump. Drank an Ayinger Weizen-Bock earlier that would make you slap your mamma, now drinking som Fish Tale [sic] Wild Salmon pale ale from Olympia, WA. Bad name, ugly label, amazing beer. Meeting some old friends at the sake bar across from my office later, then hopefully going to places that serve beer shortly thereafter. What's up with everyone else tonight?

I've had Fish Tale. Its very good.

Drinking good beer is pretty much a think of the past for me though. I always just drink a bunch of bourbon and coors (original, I dont have a vagina). It is a combination that leads you to a state I have termed "frontier drunk".

I drank maybe 5 Barton rum and colas last night. I made them rather weak, as I usually make them strong, and get too drunk too quick, this time, I didn't even feel it.

I rent two of the rooms in my house out to people. One of the people I rent to is an old friend, and one is a whiny bro-tastic bitch. He rolled up on the house tonight, drunk out of his mind at like 1O:30, referred my dog as a "niggy dog" (my dog is black, and, as a person with black people in my immediate family, I have no choice but to write people off as soon as they drop this word (its not really up for etymological debate at that point, ya know? )) turned the air conditioner down to 69 and then passed out. I am now taking votes as to whether or not I should wake him up by punching him in the back of the head and screaming "DUDE" at the top of my lungs. Vote quick, this buzz wont last forever.
