I went to Santa Rosa CA last weekend for a wedding and visited the Russian River Brewery, my current favorite, twice, and I bought a growler of the elusive Pliney The Elder to drink over the weekend, and bought 3 bombers of this precious and rare hop juice to bring home, but I was flying, so I asked a relative who drove to drive them back for me, which she did, and I retrieved them today after their long 700 mile journey to my apartment, and as I carried them from car to door in a brown paper bag, I said to my girl "do you know how sad I would be if these beers fell out of the bag and broke after all that?" And before I was done gaffawing this asinine utterance the bag broke, the bottles fell, and I had provided the answer to my own idiotic question by way of demonstration.

Ouch dude! I sort of know how you feel.. Broke a bottle of my favorite whiskey last month. I was devestated the entire night and refused to join my friends in town.
But today I'm having an afternoon gin & tonic before I'm gonna help my ma's boyfriend clean off his sailboat. Hard work requires hard liquor so I might just have a swig of something stronger aswell :-)

I found a grain free vodka which is made from potatoes and is pretty cheap. Actually has a slight creamy flavor. I have been experimenting with it all summer and "No gluten heartburn" drinking this stuff

I went on a kick of E&J over the course of about 5 months. It ended with empty E&J bottles lining the entire kitchen. That stuff was AWESOME. I need to get another bottle! Oh the memories we shared that summer.

The previous summer It was an Evan Williams kind of season. It was much hazier and not as fun.

Now I just drink beer mostly.

                      Lion stout from Sri Lanka.

Three of them and I am ready for bed. 8.8 but smooth. Best stout EVER! this week.

Just bought some 89.90 % Absinth. Label says not to drink plain and keep out of fire waiting for the new years to pop that one and go crazyyyyyy!

Xplorador Merlot 2008. Very good. Much better once it breathes, at least 24 hrs. Been on a wine kick lately after recently discovering I like dry red wine. I started about two years ago on whites and blushes. Then, I moved on to drinking semi-sweet reds like Red Table Wine and Red Muscadine. Got an itch, for some odd reason and went and bought a bottle of cheap Merlot. Stone Cellars, which is a Beringer brand. It was outstanding. Then, I tried Cabernet Sauvignon and it was very good, as well. Now, I have a whole new world to explore. I'm excited to try Malbec, Carmenere, Pinot Noir and all the others.

Today is thenext start of my first vacation week in three years. I just got out of bed and am headed to the kitchen to make a gin and tonic to kick this hangover. The kids are at their moms until tomorrow.

                              Pray for my liver.

Not much of a drinker by any stretch but for anyone able to buy it, get this one! It's lovely. Ginger beer from Crabbies.
