    Movies?

Gamers, readers, dog lovers ... what about motion pictures?

    Some of my favorites are:

David Lynch: 'Blue Velvet', 'Wild at Heart'
Jean-Luc Godard: 'Breathless', 'Vivre sa vie'
    François Truffaut: 'Jules and Jim'
Lars von Trier: 'Europa', 'Element of Crime'
Thomas Vinterberg: 'The Celebration' (and other Dogme95 films)
Aki Kaurismäki: 'La vie de bohème'

    + some Jarmusch and Kubrick.

Nearly anything by David Lynch is a favorite of mine, Blue Velvet, Eraserhead, Mulholland Drive especially. And the Twin Peaks series. I'm a sucker for that damn show.

A few more favorites of mine:

-Brazil & Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas(Terry Gilliam)
-The Royal Tenenbaums & Rushmore (Wes Anderson)
      -Naked Lunch (David Cronenberg)
      -Repulsion (Polanski)
      -Man Bites Dog
      -El Topo
      -Annie Hall
      -Almost anything by John Waters.
      -Down By Law (Jim Jarmusch)
      -The films of Stan Brakhage

Plus I'm a HUGE nerd for horror movies. I could list my favorites, but it would take far too long.

If you like Cronenberg, Videodrome is well worth watching. Very much in the same vein of sideways crazy.

The Tenant (Le Locataire) is another great Polanski film as well.

Came across this today, oddly enough - Top 50 (+6) Dystopian films.

          http://snarkerati.com/movie-news/the...s-of-all-time/

The order anyone could debate until the cows come home (and they messed up some of the photos) but it's a solid list. Some I loved, Some I'd forgotten, and some I hadn't seen! Awesome.

            Deja Vu....

God I had almost forgotten how much I love Videodrome - I thought I was the only one that remembered that movie!

              Zero:

Don't know why I forgot to put Videodrome on my list too. Great film. I like Naked Lunch more, I think, but Videodrome was the film that got me into Cronenberg, so it deserves to be on my list.

The Tenant is great too. I've only seen it a couple of times, but I was impressed. I have a friend who's a Polanski buff and lets me borrow the movies. I just borrowed Knife In The Water. Haven't watched it yet, but everybody recommends it to me.

                Newest favorite movie...

The Kingdom - just a good all around action flick.
Just saw it tonight - first date.
I also got to tell her how I haven't smoked a cigarette in eight days and explain all about snus.

I can't believe I didn't put Naked Lunch on my list, I really like that movie. The scene where Dr. Benway reveals himself by splitting open the woman suit disguise he'd been wearing and shouts "Benway!" really sticks with me

Fear and Loathing with cats? Awesome stuff.

Definitely one of my favorite movies. And probably in my top 10 favorite books of all time. R.I.P. Thompson.

                              Another great advice:

"Sounds like big trouble. You're going to need plenty of legal advice before this thing is over. As your attorney, I advise you to rent a very fast car with no top. And you'll need the cocaine. Tape recorder for special music. Acapulco shirts. Get the hell out of L.A. for at least 48 hours."
