What is your Snus story? Who got you started? How long have you been using Snus?

I'm an 18 year old college student with a fridge full of snus. When I was in high school I had a Swedish exchange student who was a major snus user. He got me started and so far about 20 of my friends order snus each week. Now that I'm in college a lot of my friends have started snusing. I do about a tin a day though baseball and classes and sleeping and drinking.

Well, I have been snusing only a few days. I became really curious about snus after reading up on alternatives to cigs. I have been on a nicotine patch a long time and it is expensive and sickening to have constant nicotine flowing into you transdermally. I found Northerner, placed an order, got it in the mail fast and painlessly, and I am getting on to this really quickly. I just wish these products were available freely in shops here in Canada. Maybe some day, there is talk.

tobaco was stricly prohibited (we were 14), so as teenager love to act like a rebel, we started snus

But I'll maybe go through a tin a day if I'm drinking or partying.

I found Triumph Snus around March 2008.

Found Swedish Snus the next day on the internet.

I was looking for a way to keep nicotine in me during work while not being able to go smoke.

I read about snus in an article on the net around January or early February 2007. went to Wikipedia, read everything, found Northerner and ordered a try out box.

I too was just looking for something I could use at work so I didn't have to leave the sales floor I was managing at the time. But fell in love with snus over the next month and one day, just stopped buying cigarettes.

I found a sucky snus forum at the time, and discovered Snuson 7 or 8 months later.

Pretty new to this stuff. Been using it a couple weeks now, and I've only finished one can so far, although I've been using multiple cans and storing whatever I'm not using at the time in the fridge. Coming from a pack per day (ex?) smoker, I'm pretty happy with my intake.

I think my nicotine cravings have died a bit since I switched to snus just because I don't have that repetitive smoking motion to fall back to when I'm bored.

I found what Camel calls snus about a month ago. I started researching snus on the internet and tried my first Swedish snus two weeks ago from a friend that had ordered some and decided he didn't like it. I rcieved my own first order 2 days ago and would estimate my usage at about 2 or 3 cans a week and absolutely love it!

It all started a little over a year ago when I tried the American attempt at snus (Taboka was tested out here in Indiana). Ended up finding the real stuff online and ordered a sampler from Northerner. At the time I thought it was okay but I was still mainly a smoker and didn't really feel like quitting. I would infrequently try the sampler cans but only half-heartedly.

Fast forward to about 3 months ago ... I was extremely busy at work and I was also flying all over the country ... being stuck in airports, airplanes and hotels where you couldn't smoke. Even when back home at work it seems I was in long meetings continually at that time. So I started grabbing the snus cans out of the freezer to get me through (still with no intention to quit smoking). Well, at the end of the busy period I realized that I hadn't bought a pack of cigarettes in over a week and actually had a half pack just sitting on the table that I had forgotten about. I did end up smoking the rest of them but I found I didn't enjoy cigarettes anymore ... on the other hand I had come to really like the taste of certain brands of snus (mainly Roda Lacket/Claq Qui ... though I am now going back and trying some of the brands from the sampler I had used during my experimentation period, figuring I never gave them a real chance at the time).
