After about 15 years on the PC, I switched to Mac at the beginning of the year. Needless to say, I'm happy. I haven't ever had a platform this easy to use, efficient, crash/virus free....I mean, it's wonderful. And the way Mac OSX works, it's just so damn efficient.
PC or Mac?

I am thinking about getting a Mac for my next computer purchase. I wish their laptops weren't so expensive. I am also looking at buying a netbook. Anyone have one and what are your reviews on them?

or marriage. Reminds of the joke where the kid asked his dad if weddings were expensive. His dad told him, yes it was because he was still paying for his.Originally posted by chadizzy1Mac's are like divorce.
Why are they so expensive?
Because they're worth it!

Most of my life I was a mac fan but when money was tight it came down to the decision of rebuilding my g4 with new (overpriced parts) or switching to the dark side with a newer computer.
So, I switched and bought a dell 380 workstation off of ebay for $250. Great computer with plenty of processing power for graphic/web design and photography needs. My guess is it still has another good year or two left in it.
Even though I have a soft spot for Mac I just started to get tired of paying off a $3000 loan every 3-4 years for a new computer.

Mac person here for a long time.
The cost does even out some-what over time. No virus/spyware software to buy. No daily virus updates. It comes with a bunch of software with the computer.
I just updated my 2 year old laptop with the latest OS (10.6) for $30. The whole thing took an hour with no hangups or bugs. I should be good for a few more years.
They are expensive, and I have been thinking about going with a PC for my next laptop because of that. The idea of going with a PC after the hassle-free years on a Mac is not an inviting proposition.

At the time I really wanted to keep the G4 but a decent processor was over $200 dollars! Plus a hard drive, video card and a full retail version of Tiger or Leopard the PC just seemed like a better decision.Originally posted by CMtruthwolf1, then you're paying way too much, I upgraded my computer in february with 800E, all are new except the processor, the computer is like pp out of offroad coffee/vanilla. Nobody cant handle it. 8)
