    While I've been out...

So I've taken a break from the forum her for a while. My pregnant wife lost her job, and I've been working a ton lately to help out, we haven't seen an unemployment check for over a month, and they tell us it could be another month. It just sucks and I thought I would have to give up on my beloved snus.

My spirits are up a little because I am on my last 2 cans (Kronan, and Catch), and I was finally able to order some with buysnus's sale, and it should be here by Monday...it hurt to do so, but the prices were too good and I was able to make a decent order on a couple of portion mix rolls with 2 free tins of Thunder Blue.

So I come back and it looks like I can't get Luckies, and now Pall Mall, Retro, and Camel are out of the question before I had a chance or the money to buy them! (I must find a corner to cry in :cry What is going on?? Now there is some legislation trying to get through that won't let me buy online?? I feel like I've been gone way too long, is there anything else that I have missed?

Does anyone know if the Descreet samples are still available, and how are they, it would be nice to get some for when I run out.

I know it's a lot of questions, but I've been out for a while...I just count my blessing, I have a wonderful wife, a healthy bun in the oven, a job, a place to live, a roof over my head, food in the cupboard, and snus on the way!!! Sympathies to all who have had similar situations in this crappy economy.

Good to see you gentlemanly, sorry to hear about your troubles. My fiance and I have been fortunate to both keep our jobs, but it's most definitely a paycheck to paycheck dire situation even still. Not sure how people are doing it out there with job losses. Glad some snus is on the way. Discreet samples are definitely still available. I just got mine a few days ago along with a follow-up email from Tom, who makes it. I don't think the snus itself is for me so much, but his concept, market niche, pricing, generosity with free samples, product quality, and customer service are of the highest order. My fiance even liked them after finding all other snus disgusting, and I haven't heard a negative thing at all about the snus. go the website, he'll ever so kindly send you an assload of free samples.

gentlemanly, first, so good to see you.

I understand the waiting for unemployment check sucks. But at least when it finally comes, you will get a nice chunk of change all at once.

To try and catch you up.

Pall Mall was discontinued months ago, sales figures just never came up

Retro is gone because of "production troubles this summer" At least according to the company, they are not saying it will never be back. But they also aren't saying when they expect things to be fixed, so we just don't know

The same day we heard about Retro, we learned that Lucky and Camel can suddenly no longer be sold in the US because they violate US trademarks. Both the Camel and Lucky brand are owned by two different companies, one that has rights just here in the US, and one that has international rights. My guess at the legal issues is since Buysnus inevitably is advertising it over the net here, they can't actually ship it. Smaller companies may still be shipping it, if they haven't been hit with threatening letters yet.

PACT Act - Pact act would make sending tobacco through the US Postal Service illegal. Something about making sure taxes are paid. It passed overwhelmingly in the house, only 13 Republicans voted against it. But has not passed the Senate yet. And may not, we just don't know. The bill only affects the postal service, but news reports have said private companies have "agreed" not to ship it as well. But again, that is outside the scope of the law, and hopefully, at least one will be smart and say FU to the government, and do business with anyone willing to pay. Again, we must just wait and see.

        What else have you missed.....

Box Passes. We started these a few months ago, now up to 5 or 6. We even have our own section on Snuson to talk about them. Box Passes are popular on Cigar boards. One person started it, puts a bunch of snus in a box, sends to next person. That next person takes what he wants, adds more to replace, and sends it on to third person. Great way to try snus you haven't had a chance to. Plus, other cools stuff gets added in as it goes.

Other news, Xobe abandoned us, is now a mod over at Snuscentral. But we caught him reading Snuson yesterday, so hoping he comes to his senses soon. But I long ago took over as number one from him and will NEVER abandon Snuson like that traitor did.

Snuff is becoming bigger and bigger. Read the snuff thread at the top for more info.

And Discreet is the new thing. Most amazingly good American snus ever made, Tom is super nice. And lots more coming soon from him, including a Swdsish Style that gives even my beloved Retro a run for it's money

I think I have covered everything. Glad to see you back!!
