Got fired/laid off today.

So get to work, and my boss fires me. NO warning.

Not really sure why, but I suspect it comes down to she is bored, thnks she can do what I was doing, and save another $2500 amonth by doing that. Did the same thing to the admin girl we had coming in once a month for class week.

Just kinda sucks I guess. I loved what I did, and thought I was untouchable as I had saved them from bankruptcy last year, tripled ther revenues, brought in $300,000 in revenue this year.

But my boss is really stupid sometimes, panics over the smallest things, and thinks she can do what I do. She quit her job a few months ago, and thnk she s bored.

She is dead wrong. I suspect that a year from now, I will still be getting all the extra unemployment and they won' be there any more.

Oh well, she paid me for an entire month, will jump to make sure unemployment gets taken care of as soon as possible.

Just kinda sucks I guess, but I will live, I will be fine. Just a bit numb at the moment as I just didn't see it coming.

I should be OK PP, NC has one of the highest unemployment benefits, and I have been working long enough, I should be close to maximizing it. If so, it will be close enough that I shouldn't really notice the money thing. And one benefit going through this now is that they have thrown so much extra money at this problem, I will be covered for a year if need be.

Plus, I have like 4 months of snus in the freezer, plus could get away with slowing down if had too and could stretch that to 6 months.

No, the only issues is the suddenness of it, dealing with one more thing I loved being snatched away. So really, just a head issue.

But I am good at dealing with that kind of thing, will survive this like I have done everything else these last few years

Oh Sage, I'm sorry to hear that as well. Jobs suck, pure and simple, maybe not the actual "do" stuff, but just the insecurity and BS that is with it. I don't "like" my job, but it's a job. I've gone long stretches of unemployed before. It's a rat race out there. Stay positive, life's an adventure of evolution. But it can sure suck at times. If I can help in anyway, let me know.

LOL, but they will probably go down soon. I had MUCH downtime between calls at work, and since I had to be there sitting in front of a computer all day, I played here a bunch.

Now, I don't have to be in front of a computer all the time.

Sage, I'm really sorry to hear that.

Perhaps you should look into a local tobacco shop for employment. It's not great money, but it pays! You can influence their snus buying from the inside.

Sage man that is a complete and totaly bummer. It is so sad when hard working able bodied americans lose their jobs for seemingly no reason.

Hopefully you will be able to find a new employer, or at least take a minute off and enjoy unemployment for a while.

I think Sage should post his address incase anyone wants to send him a surprise shipment of snus to get him by!

Sucks.
I hope you thoroughly take a couple of weeks now and enjoy yourself with relaxation, sleep and time with friends and family.

I took a hard hit during the dot.com bomb days right before 911. Rode the 9 months of unemployment while also working on a number of odd jobs before the market finally opened up again two years later.
It is amazing that our generation has had to live through two of these recessions within a decade.
