    Computer wiz question

I am not sure if the funds are going to be available for a netbook so I am looking for other solutions for me to use a computer for the audio feed on MLB.com. My question is there any type of wireless hookup for me attach headphones to so I can send the signal from my PC in the living room to my bedroom?

If the funds are available, I am also looking at getting an Apple Itouch for the same thing because it would be more versatile than a netbook and
I could use it while doing yardwork.

Any ideas on the wireless would be appreciated.

If you have a bluetooth headset, you can always get what they call a "bluetooth dongle", which attaches to a usb port and then you can have the computer sound send through that to the headset. If the computer has built in bluetooth, the dongle wouldn't be needed of course. All you do is set the headset as one of the speaker setups and you're good to go.

I think there are specials going on the new iPod touches....because they just dropped a new model. I'm sure you can get one to do that, because they are wifi enabled, I believe.

The Ipod Touch would be a good investment. Do you already have a wireless router? I'm not 100% positive you can stream audio for ballgames with it. I know you can't use it to stream from your pc.

However there are Wi Fi radios. There are internet radios, very expensive, not reasonable when compared to a laptop.

        http://www.ccrane.com/radios/wifi-ra...net-radio.aspx

If you already have a wireless router, like $40 if not, you can get in for $100 to stream any audio from a pc. You could technically use an ethernet too.

You've got some options to do what you want. It all depends on how versatile you want to be. For the extra money a laptop will cost you will get more functionality. For the features and apps available on the Ipod touch you get awesomeness and portability too. For just having endless audio streaming options limited only by what you can do on your pc (unlike apples proprietary b.s.) get an internet radio.

OOh I might get that radio on the second link I posted.

After really reading the reviews it sounds VERY cool. Looks like some guy plugged in an external hard drive and can play all the audio he has.

Not to mention the other capabilities just being on wi fi....

Search "internet radio" there are tons of different ones at very different price points.

Ever use Pandora? hmmmm. So many options. so many possibilities..

Now I'm thinking I NEED one!!

I love radio. I'm more of a Sci Fi junkie and usually listen to Coast to Coast AM.

I know the internet radios don't work because I have checked on them for the MLB.com stuff.

As far as the Itouch, there is a MLB.com app for the audio so I know it would work. If I possibly can arrange the funds, I am leaning towards getting one of them for the versatility. Just don't know if I could get by with the one with the 8gb which is the only one I could possibily afford. I also saw where they have approved an app from Rhapsody To Go online music service. While it is $15 a month, the variety is great and is the same as just buying 15 songs from Itunes. I use the regular Rhapsody at work exclusively.

If I can't come up with the funds, I will look at the other options above. I am hoping to go wireless but might actually drill a hole in my floor and just run a audio cable from my pc if i have to. That would be my last resort. I have a wireless router so I was hoping there was something that I could use. Might look at the bluetooth thingy a mabo.

About 10 years ago, I got a pair of wireless headphones so I could wander the apt. and listen to music. They were decent even then. I am assuming the same exists today.

After doing some quick research, I think I will go with the Bluetooth Dongle (that justs sounds weird) if I can't get a Itouch. Here is the type of earphones I would like because of the fact I would be using them while lying in bed. The ear bud style is the same as the Sony regular earbuds ones I use now. Thanks Sheila for that idea and thanks to the rest of you for your suggestions. I knew I could count on SnusOn family. Who needs google?

Oh yeah. That ain't saying a whole lot so there. Kind of reminds me of a joke where the girl said give me 12 inches until it hurts and the guy said "well I'll have to stick it in twice and hit you in the head with a brick"

                      Three things.

                      1. Itouch will be awesome.

                      2. Bluetooth has limited range. I have stereo Bluetooth headphones and range is 30ft. MAX. Check before you buy.

                      3. PILLOW SPEAKER! (my love of radio is not shared) I'm on my third one. My dog chewed my first one that was wrapped in cloth. Second one was cheapo and gave out.

p.s. I actually BOUGHT nice one.

It is more than 30 ft so crap on that. The heck with the Altoids can, I am going to use a General Onyx can for mine.
