Don't let the bed bugs bite....

For the past 4 months I've had this INTENSE itching. (spare the STD jokes, haha). And it got worse. I went to the doctor a few times a week and tried every medicine under the sun. I have no allergies, but were treated for allergy outbreak. Treated for dermatitis. Etc, etc, etc. Turns out, there was a "bed bug" outbreak this year.

    http://www.findingdulcinea.com/news/...ug-Summit.html

    The largest one since WWII.

So now I'm away from home having my house treated, and I'm on some crazy medicines now and creams to get rid of this insane itching.

They can get in if you travel, so they advise to wash your clothes/bags/etc. Also, if you buy "used" furniture, or visit flea markets, they can get in that way. There's ways to test for them, pest control will do it too. The pest guy said I should mention it to people to have their houses checked, because they have treated ALOT of houses this year for the same thing.

Guess the old "Don't let the bed bugs bite" phrase has some truth to it.

Bed bug outbreaks have been huge all over north america for the past few years now. Its due to the chemicals that were used for bug infestations. The chemicals once used was a basic "kill every insect" mixture. Kind of like what roundup is for plants (kills everything not just broad leaf). So the bed bugs were kept at by for along while.

          ACT NOW.
          it's a MOTHERF#&#@* once they're in control.
i wish i would have done this weeks ago.

at least get a pest company to come look, they have lights and stuff they can check.

at the stage mine is at, it's over 100 bucks, not to mention the time i've taken to remove clothes, etc from the house, cleaning everything, and possibly replacing some furniture.

Yah ive been wondering if we have these because my wife has this uncontrollable itching especialy at night and in the morning (maybe because of being in the bed during those hours) and the dr says no clue why she has such intense itching

The wierd thing is that I don't have it either, and my duaghter doesnt seem to either. Maybe bed bugs prefer philipino food?

They bite at night, that's when they're most active. And I had it for 3 weeks before my daughter had it. Sometimes it's like that. I'd get a bug guy to come look at it, it SUCKS once it's all over the house.

My friend had them. They had to get new mattresses and bomb the apartment. I was still scared to go in there even afterwards.

My friend has two kids. Tornado came through, no damage power was out. Wouldn't stay home in the dark with two kids. Went to a hotel for the night- came home with bedbugs. She has considered burning the damn house down, it is so hard to get rid of... and she's no slouch, they battle fleas with the four dogs and whatnot.... apparently bedbugs are just something fierce.

They're no joke. I never gave it a second thought until I got them. It's insane how much control they take over your home and your life.

Officially home 2 days now, and free of itching, scratching, etc. After hundreds of dollars on medicine and treatment and bug spray, etc, glad this is finally resolved.

Now to get rid of all these rashes.
