    New..and any women here?

    Hi there!

Judging from past posts, I'm a bit of a rarity here. No worries.

I'm a misplaced NYC woman, currently living in the Midwest, trying to give up smoking. I've chosen snus as my method of quitting...

Long time reader here. This forum rocks!

Thanks for all the great advice!

    Hiya, welcome to Snuson :^)

There's a few women, and we've had a decent amount pass through, but only a couple are regular posters. It's good to have another one :^)

      Welcome to Snuson JPono

So long time reader, how long have you been using snus now??

As I have posted often, don't worry about the cigarettes, it will just happen eventually. The snus WILL just take over, all you need to do is let it happen.

And yes, more women are welcome, we'll try and straighten it up a bit for you.

My wife just started posting here, and she's getting her first snus order soon. Welcome to Snus-On.

Welcome to the forums! There are a few female regulars here, so no worries! My wife and I both quit smoking with snus, but she doesn't really post on forums.

There are several of us that live in and around Madison too, including myself. Hmmm... I might revive the idea of creating a Midwest Snus Club!

What kind of snus do you use?

            Hey guys,

            Thanks for the warm welcome!

To answer your questions, I've just begun with snus this month after a co-worker gave me a bit of Onyx during an especially long work meeting. Since then, I've placed a few orders online and am still in the process of sampling to find out what I do and don't like. It's a Nick and Johnny day today. Yesterday, it was Discreet Cool Mint.

Midwest Snus Club? I could see that!

Love me some Nick and Johnny, Claq Qui is a close second with regards to stark portions. I've never tried Discreet myself.

By the way, welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the forum. Nice to have some diversity. Maybe someday I can take down the "Welcome to SnusOn - Official SausageFest" sign.

                        JPono,

You seem to be trying a wide variety already, this is good.

Takes fully a month of using Swedish before you can fully taste it the way it is, just takes that long to fully get acclimated to the salt.

And as for the cigarettes. I never started snus to quit, just help me out at work. But the more I used, the less I smoked. Finally, after about 6 weeks, I just stopped buying cigarettes. It will happen, don't stress any of it.

Thanks for the advice. I've actually found quite a few of your posts about quitting to be very helpful! Many thanks!

The snus just took over for me. I was "trying to quit" but didn't want to - which is how most people are, I hear. You wanna quit but don't wanna quit? I just let the snus take over. It did it on it's own.

Hasn't been as easy for me. I know if I exercised just a slight bit of self control, then I could quit smoking easy with snus. I have cut back tremendously with snus, and I don't "have" to really have them. I just enjoy smoking on the porch in the evenings.
