Yet another reason I hate the modern world. The people involved here would be lucky if legal action were all I pursued....

seriously? what in the hell, dude? that is so ridiculous. i would throw the shit fit to end all shit fits if they did that to me. whoever developed those photos and called the cops deserves their teeth busted in. i cant believe all of the repercussions they had to suffer for that. i would think that case would get thrown out immediately. i mean i guess they have to investigate where theres suspicious activity, but you can pretty much tell innocence when you see it. jesus you cant even have bathtime pictures of your kids anymore without a giant ordeal.

I think they get in legal trouble now if they don't call the cops.

Geez, digital pictures people. Get yourself a freakin good printer, take pictures of whatever the f**K you want. But blame Walmart??? No, just what they have to do.

That's true, but I think someone went a little over the deep end on that one. Who doesn't take little nudist pictures of their kids when they're babies? My mom did it, her mom did it, everybody's mom does it. I think they would have had some common sense to be able to realize that.

I hear you on getting a digital camera, though....I figured the only kind of people who still use film are professionals who have their own darkrooms anyway.

How the hell did it get as far as it did? I could see it getting past a Waltard, but all the way to court?!?! The problem with this country is everyone's more concerned with covering their asses instead of doing the right thing....

We have digital photos of our kid in the tub. We haven't printed them out, but we wouldn't take them to a Wal-Mart. I saw many pics. like that not get printed when I worked there. They wouldn't call the cops, they just wouldn't print them. People are stupid these days.

I think the police hired a convicted baby molester to be their picture examiner, and if he gets a stirring, then they call it child porn.

It is the law that if you see anything that could qualify as child pornography you must alert authorities. While I'm not sure of the legality of NARC laws, it is what it is in this case.

This case is something of a perfect storm. Lots of parents take pictures of their kids naked and it's never an issue. I have a picture of my son sitting naked on a prop moon away from the camera so you see a little butt crack, and it was taken by Picture People. These people were really unlucky.

I imagine a large part of their unluckiness came from the pic described on the second page:

"Some of the photos are bath time photos, but there are a few after the bath. Three of the girls are naked, laying on a towel with their arms around each other, and we thought it was so cute."
While harmless in this case, I could see it raising red flags in today's society. Like it or not, there are some definite sickos out there.

                  What sage said...get a printer.

It's unforgiveable that this went as far as it did, especially taking their children away. I could maybe see a red flag that they wanted to investigate, but it should have stopped after the first look-through the house.

In any case, I wouldn't get any of those kinds of pictures developed from film. Not because I'm worried about the legalities of it, but because the developer could be some sicko who wants to make an extra set for himself.
