When I was in college, I bought an old vw bus in griffin, from an old hippy. It's a fair piece from griffin back to auburn, and I was towing the bus behind my old '82 chevrolet pickup on a car dolly. So just as I'm about to leave, this old guy rolls up a fatty and we proceed to smoke some of the most debilitating weed I've ever had. I tried to hang around as long as I could, because I was torn up, but the old guy had to go somewhere so i was sent on my way. Believe me, towing a vw bus is hard enough at the best of times, the things have so much wind resistance that every passing car blows you all over the road. In my condition - impossible. Wound up finding a Walmart, parking the truck, and sleeping it off in the bed in the bus...
Good times... The first of several in that old bus, actually

Newnan is full of old people, Peachtree city is full of younger folks. 30k+ people in the town and 10k gold carts.
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......
I've been wrong lots of times. Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.
I hope you like it down there PP! I just moved from Roswell GA to Seattle two months ago. I don't know what you pay now but taxes for snus are waaay cheap down there too.

..lol..
All I know is that when we were in high school if some unfortunate event made us drive down to PC we would be laughing our asses off.. There were hundreds of old/young drunks pimping around in their golf carts..BTW.. My brother lives in old town Newnan and it's pretty sweet but the rest of us still make jokes about his decision to move "south".. I guess you would have to know how people relate to different areas in GA to understand.. Anyway good luck and get ready to pimp your cart!!
Edit-- I am not dogging it out it's just a unique place..it's kinda of it own little world surrounded by the brothers.. It just different..lol..EVERYTHING looks the same.. It's hard to tell the difference between a waffle house and a chevron because of all the building codes and whatnot.. Kinda like the Truman Show...
well, I've been visiting Peachtree City since the year they first started to develope the town. My best friend bought the 6th house built there back in the 70's. My sisters live there as well as my mom, other relatives and several close friends. I've spent hours on the golf cart trails and have yet to see anyone that seemed even remotely drunk. All the people that I've met there are really nice. Also, IMO thats where the "new money" is, not that I care. Newnan is where the old money is, as well as all classes of people. PTC is 99% upscale.
I know all about Griffin and areas like Hampton, Sunnyside and Lovejoy. Not where I'd like to live for reasons I don't feel appropriate mentioning on an open forum.
I've done alot of research and apparently I know the areas around atlanta better than some of the residents. When my family and friends down there ask where I'm looking I tell them and they don't even recognize the name of some of the towns or where they are located. I have spent 3 years actively looking for property down there. I was planning on moving the parrot business and I needed a particular type of property in a certain type of area. I just couldn't find what I needed close enough to a hospital. Two weeks ago I finally decided to sell out most of the birds that I have left and just move to PTC and get it over with. The doctor didn't give me all that much time so I'm heading straight to retirement to a new home thats a normal size and easy to care for so my wife doesn't have to move for a long time after I'm gone. She also won't have to deal with selling the parrots and inventory either.
Thanks
btw, I just sold a bird to a fellow that sells custom golf cart parts down south. He said to let him know when I'm ready and he'll hook me up with whatever I want very reasonable.
Just have to get used to the fact that a decent new cart is about 10K. Looks like I'll be resorting to a decent used cart. I just can't see spending that much on a new one.

Edit-- I get what your saying... Have fun and good luck with the biz...I didn't say being drunk on the cart was bad..lol.. You have never run into a drunk on a golf cart there? I thought it was a requirement to be drunk playing golf.. Things must be going downhill fast...
BTW.. The money is where its always been...North Atlanta..Vinnings, Dunwoody, Lenox, Buckhead..etc...
good to see you posting Condor. The house in Illinois is on the market. When it sells we are on our way. finally
