Robyn, 18, was struck down with a rare cardiac condition that could have killed her at any moment.

But she is now enjoying a new lease of life after being fitted with the swine heart valve during complex surgery.

Last night she said: "The doctors told me that I would need to have a valve taken out and replaced by one from a pig.

"It was a bit of a shock being a vegetarian, but I realised it was a life or death choice.

"Obviously everyone is going to pick life, so now I'm a vegetarian being kept alive by a pig."

thats a great story. I read on another site that the gal used to stutter compulsively before she received her new pig valve. Now instead of stuttering............she oinks.
