I actually want to quit snus, or (preferably) cut down to minis . I love the stuff, so that why it's so hard to motivate myself to do it. If I quit snus though, I would use nasal snuff like a maniac, and probably smoke the pipe a lot as well.

The reason I want to quit is because the nicotine in snus affects me pretty weird sometimes. One day I get super lazy and tired of it, and others I get jittery, almost anxious and sped up. It also feels like the nicotine masks emotions, both good or bad. When I quit last time, I felt almost enlightened, extremely calm and peaceful. With snus and coffee, I don't really feel emotions, except for the pleasure of putting in a snus.

What is strange is that cigarettes never affected me this way, and neither does snuff.

Another reason I'm hesitating quitting snus is my creativity gets superior when snusing. When I quit, I couldn't make music at all, and just got angry when I tried, haha.

What I described with snus can be because of coffee however. I do get extremely caffeine sensitive when using snus for some reason, and if I quit that, I might have a different feeling.

Heders......looks like you should try eliminating caffene first. Snus was tough for me to get the hang of proper dosage. Sometimes I need a sterk for a boost and other times a mini whoops my ass. Depends on a lot of things for me personally and sometimes I use too much nicotine and feel all poopy afterwards.

Good luck and remember to listen to your body.

Yeah, I think I'll try that. I've done it before though, but it never last more than a few days. Caffeine is almost as addictive as nicotine for me, haha.

I snus way too much, and find it hard to control my dosage. I love the taste of snus, so I want to have one in all the time. Almost every time I pop in a snus, it's because I miss the flavor, and not because I need/want the nicotine. Maybe I should try for real to space out my portions, and really stick to it.

Thanks man! I will start tomorrow and really limit myself and only take a snus when I feel the craving, and not throw in one after the other - like I've done for some years now.

I would like to quit snus. It would be one less thing to spend money on, and more importantly, to worry about. Since this addiction of ours is for the most part not sold in stores (unless you live in Sweden), you have to remember to carry it everywhere you go and always have some on hand at home. Addictions are a pain in the ass. Sure I enjoy a snus, but mostly because by body demands it and I'm giving it what it wants. Always fkng around with snus while trying to look after/hold my new baby -- putting one in, taking one out -- is bumming me out as well. Just my 2 cents.

Although I said I didn’t want to quit, I’m with you on this one. I love the stuff, but since the start of the new year i’ve been on a mission to cut right back. My two main problems (or addictions), are caffeine and nicotine. This week I’ve been doing OK, I think it was Monday, I had five during the hours of 8am to 6pm (that’s unheard of), and only another two during the evening. It’s definitely not as hard to do if I reach for the snuff when I need a hit, but some days are just better than others!

If I’m being honest with myself, I’ve had a really good week with the snus (just like Monday), it’s Friday today and every day this week I’ve had 8 or less. Today didn’t start very well, I got up with Oden’s extreme, had a shower and reached for the los, and did I need it? No, I don’t think I did, I could have had a couple pinches of a nice toasted snuff, but I wanted that mouth feel and taste. Anyways, I’m just going to keep doing what I’m doing, space out my portions/los, and really stick to it, snuff more when I need the nicotine, and use the snus more as a reward every three hours. If I keep one in for 1 – 1.5 hours then switch to snuff for 1.5 hours, I should be ok!

Yeah man, that's the thing, for me, the major addiction (at least what it feels like) is not for the nicotine, but for the taste and feel of it. Probably 80% of my snus use is not because I 'need it', but because I just want to taste it again when my old one loses taste.

We can do this! I've taken one prilla today (been awake only 3 hours though). Through it out some time ago. I will do some nasal snuff and wait a bit until my next one, and have it when I really crave it. Gets more enjoyable that way also!
