Your top 5 Fvorite BANDS of all time....

We have a thread going about top 5 snus, and top 5 songs, I'm curious about your top 5 favorite bands of all time. Anything from today to back when you were a kid...

    1. Black Label Society - Greatest band on the planet

    2. Pantera - One of the greatest bands of all time - R.I.P. Dime!

    3. Guns n' Roses - Slash is a Baaad MoFo!

    4. Skid Row - Sebastian Bach could (and still can) sing, man!

    5. Metallica - Makes me wanna put my head through a wall!

As you can tell, Im a lead guitarist, so Im into guitar driven metal. I love alot of bands, and alot of much heavier bands, but these are the ones that have stood the test of time with me.

    Bob Dylan
    Miles Davis
    Stevie Ray Vaughn
    Duke Ellington
    Beach Boys

The first 3 were easy, but the other 2 have a lot of competition. I had a hard time choosing.

            1. Nirvana - hands down. They changed my life at the tender age of 12. On A Plain is the greatest song ever written.

            2. The Beatles - Across The Universe is the second greatest song ever written. (I know Nirvana wouldn't be Nirvana without them, but Nirvana reached me first)

            3. Green Day - They can't write a bad song. From Slappy Hours to 21st Century, all pure gold. Christie Road - amazing song.

            4. Screeching Weasel - My first "real" punk album, Anthem For A New Tomorrow. Another life changing band for me. I still follow what Ben Weasel is doing.

            5. Strung Out - Twisted By Design is an album you can turn up full blast and sing/scream every word to front and back. Matchbook is one of the greatest closing tracks ever. If youv'e ever gone through a bad breakup, crank this sucker.

I could list my next 5 favorite bands easily.

Venom- Loved them from the start. Just embodies all that rock should.
              Celtic Frost- Just plain awesomeness.
Bathory- Maybe the innovater of the sound of 2nd wave NBM.
Immortal- Just put it all together so well.
Darkthrone- The father of the trinity that started it, and still rules.

                1. Led Zeppelin
                2. Tool
                3. Pearl Jam
                4. Soundgarden
                5. Deftones

Top 5 is hard to choose for me. There's a lot of bands that I love, but these are probably the ones I listen to most. (Though I'm listening to 311 now...)

Love Black Label - Zack Wylde is the man. Surprised you didn't list old Ozzy if you like Black Label. Pantera kicks ****ing ASS. One of the reasons (other than Neil from Rush) I started playing drums is because of Vinnie f'in Paul.

                    My favorites:

                    1. Rage Against The Machine
                    2. Pantera
                    3. Bob Schneider
                    4. Johnny Cash (the ORIGINAL outlaw)
                    5. The Oak Ridge Boys

                    .....okay, just kidding about #5.

Hey, Im happy for y'all and imma let you finish, but Mettalica was one of the best band's of all time!

Oh and also Pantera. I wish the lead singer didn't get so drugged out. Saw Superjoint Ritual live and was not impressed.

I met the wife of the late Dimebag Darrell a couple years ago, got a pic of her and the owner of Dean guitars.

Man, it would be TOUGH to sum this up because it's changed so much over the years! Pantera, White Zombie, Bob Marley, Metallica, Enya, GnR, The Who, Tool, The Beatles, Stuck Mojo, Danzig, Dylan, CSNY, Simon and Garfunkel, Harry Chapin...there's just too many?

I am sad to see no love for Tiny Tim here. =D

                            Oh, and Alice in Chains!

Yeaaaaah, they've come to snuff the Rooster.......

                            And their nose exploded.
