It's sad that I fear talking about Obama because people will call me a racist, what has our country come to?

All I will say is if you read back through the history of the prize, these criticisms of it are nothing new./
And just some last perspective. This prize is named for the guy that invented dynamite. Not sure it ever meant anything.

Was the prize premature? Yes.
Is Obama as evil as many on the right have portrayed him to be? No.
Obama inherited a couple of shitty situations. Obviously, the economy. Also, a neglected war in Afghanistan. I can see small progress being made on the economy, which can probably be attributed to both the end of the previous administration and the beginning of this one. I think it will take some time before the average American feels any relief from these bad times, though. We are starting to see a refocus on Afghanistan, as well, after 6 years of being distracted by Iraq (which I still believe was unnecessary).
I'm not an Obama apologist and still have some criticisms. For instance, I think he should have stuck to his guns on health care by being more insistent on a public option.
Overall, I voted for the man and really would like to see him succeed, but he doesn't deserve the Nobel Peace Prize yet.

Jesus the guy hasn't been in office a year, and all I hear is how bad he is. Maybe it's due to living in South Alabama, but come on. Bush was universally hated by the world, except for Americans who think religion should be in government. Or the War On Iraq was about 911. Or that think someone like Obama is gonna take away our guns. It's too early to tell how he will be as a president. Personally I think the guy is allright. At least he's intelligent. Which is way more than I can say for the last guy.
"Give him a chance."
"He's not as bad as the last guy."
"You're being racist."
"He's only been around a year."
I hear that all the time, when I say something bad about Obama. Seems like there's ALWAYS an excuse that can be made. If he slips up once and somebody tries to say something, all these excuses come out. And they're DEFENDED. You cannot say anything negative about Obama, PERIOD. It's a fact. If you do, you risk public embarassment.
Bush? Oh you can say whatever you want. It's okay.
It's a ridiculous double standard.
All I'm trying to say is he didn't deserve this award, he hasn't done anything to deserve it, and that's a fact.

Lol, the poll asks if he currently has done something to deserve the NPP. The answer of course is no. Even if he does something in the future, that is not the problem, the problem is that he got it without having accomplished anything. Rogue nations are still being rogue nations, hating us and our allies. Just status quo, nothing has changed.
