    I am glad it's Friday.

This is what I laugh about. According to what I see, most Americans seem to have idolized and loved Bush for being an amazing President. Because I see everyone praising Obama for accomplishing nothing, and just continuing Bush's retarded plans to include

    Bailing out big corps
    Growing Government
Taking away civil liberties (Patriot act)
2 wars that just continue to grow
Not doing anything for the gay right movement

He is just more of the same, if you like what Obama has done so far this year, than you should all have pro Bush/Cheney stickers on your car, because it's all the same.

Both parties are ****ing us. Vote libertarian or some other third party to show them that in the upcoming elections we will not take it any more, we want genuine change.

What about going line by line through the budget and eliminating waste
    (he just created more waste)
What about never raising a tax
(he has raised taxes, and has proposed or been in favor of several other taxes)

Bush spent too much time not at work but instead on the Ranch, Obama spends to much time not at work but instead on Jay Leno, in Copenhagen etc.

He is going to campaign into infinity, and the middle class continues to get ****ed.

Change, will forever become a dirty word because of this president.

What does your anti-Obama rant have to do with the Nobel Peace Prize? What does Chad's message about "what has our country come to?" have to do with the Nobel Peace Prize? The Nobel Peace Prize is not the "how has Obama measured up to his US critics" prize. It's not an American prize. You may as well say "what has Norway come to?"

I love that Bush started the processes of bailouts, growing governments, removal of civil liberties, two wars, religious intolerance, etc. etc. etc. Then Obama comes in and hasn't solved all of the massive problems left by a Conservative administration YET, and is blamed for it. The problems are now his.

He is just more of the same, if you like what Obama has done so far this year, than you should all have pro Bush/Cheney stickers on your car, because it's all the same.
Bullshit. He's working instead of sitting on the ranch. Ohhh, but he went to Copenhagen!!! Yes, to promote America's image in the world. The first President to push the 2016 Olympics in Chicago was actually Bush. Ohhh, but we didn't get the Olympics! Yes, that's because the Olympics is NOT an American right. South America deserved the Olympics this year, but it was good to make our case.

Here's a partial list of some things he's done/ended/not done thus far. Some I agree with, some I don't, some you obviously have never heard about which can happen when you only get your news from one source:

He is being FORCED to campaign. The Republican party has become the party of "No". If he wants to get something done, he has to sell it to the American people. It's a tremendous waste of time and things would be a lot better if the Republican party would stop stonewalling and actually try to work together. End of story.

And again, among those of you complaining about Obama and the freedom's we have "lost"...what freedoms, exactly, have you lost since Obama took the Presidency? Or are you just talking about the fact that he hasn't yet cleaned out the massive bucket of SHIT he was handed?

And in the end...what the hell does any of this have to do with the Nobel Peace Prize? Before I continue let me say...I don't agree with him receiving the prize. They should have waited for Gitmo to actually close, or the Afghanistan or Iraq war to end, or for Russia and us to disarm or something. I agree it was a bit preemptive, and was really given only based on the world's "new perception of America". But damn, you can say you don't agree with him receiving the prize without breaking down into MESSIAH THE ONE COMMUNIST THE SAME HOPEY MCCHANGE OLIGARHY WHARRGARBL vitriol every time someone gives him a bit of praise. Just say you disagree and move on. Why try to shit on him? Why stoop to the level of the idiots who did it to Bush when he was in the White House? Why attack your President instead of simply saying "I won't be voting for him next election"?

I agree with everything you said. Our world standing has increased exponentially since Obama came to office. Is that worthy of a Nobel prize?, I don't think so, but they're rewarding potential, and it's nice not being the asshole of the world for a change.

          @ VB SNUS

The question about whether he deserved the nobel peace prize was settled on the first page, NO.

Republican party is the new party of NO, this is correct.
The democrat party has become the party of "well we havn't gotten around to it yet". Either way nothing gets done.

You can't say "yet" though or "it's too soon". If he didn't support bailing out big corporations than he wouldn't have done it. If he didn't like the patriot act than he wouldn't have continued endorsing it and renewing it, if he wanted to withdraw from the wars he could have.

What is this nonsense claim that Obama can't get anything done because republicans keep saying no. Who cares what they say, HE HAS CONTROLL OF ALL 3 BRANCHES OF THE GOVERNMENT, and a liberal supreme court, and the media and hollywood. The only thing stopping him is himself.

"Obama is the only person unaware we elected him a dictator, giving him both houses of Congress and the major TV networks."
          -Joel Stein

When Bush had all 3 branches of Gov HE DID A LOT despite liberals trying to stop him at every turn. He STFU and did what he felt was right, even when it seemed the whole nation was against it. Nothing stopped him from doing his job.
What he did were mainly BAD, but the point is he did it even though the entire left AND independants were against him.

What is Obama's excuse? That he is not as effective a leader as BUSH? Good lord.

**** this crybaby president and the crybaby liberals. Just shut up and accomplish something, even a stupid monkey **** like Bush managed to pull this off.

I couldn't vote because I do not see the likes of Mother Tessie and His Holiness as in the same league of accomplishment and worth as Martin Luther King. And no, obama does not deserve the prize.

News flash, nobel peace prize is for things already accomplished, not "potential", of which Obama has none anyways. There is a line of people who have been nominated multiple times that have already accomplished something.

Another news flash, we are still the asshole of the world. Our enemies are still our enemies and the wars are still going on.

And Re: Going to copenhagen was not a waste of time.

FTA: Since the American organisation was asked, but declined, to give up DKK 28 million of an increase of DKK 128 million from the previous four-year period in favour of the poorest IOC countries, a group of the major international sporting federations decided to take action, winning support from IOC members to punish Chicago.

According to Politiken’s information, the American Olympic Committee had been warned of the possible reaction, but no-one informed Chicago or the White House

I know you've had to do some travel to horrible areas of the world, have you spent much time in the better spots? You should see the way we're thought of now in Geneva, or Florence, or Munich. It's actually somewhat amazing.

Yes, and we can see what the unilateral decision making of GWB did to our nation. Unilateral decisions are NOT THE RIGHT WAY. In fact, it's everything you HATE about government! It's the government pushing something through and saying MY WAY, NO HIGHWAY. You're saying "why doesn't he just do it???" but if he did, you'd be saying "why is he being a dictator???". Perhaps, just perhaps...he doesn't WANT to make unilateral decisions? Perhaps, just perhaps...the reason we have two parties is so they can work together, not work apart?

I think it's hilarious that the same people calling Obama a fascist and "just like Bush" are ridiculing and criticizing him for NOT being a fascist and "just like Bush"!

Then you should be outraged at the IOC for humiliating our country by plotting to humiliate our President, not outraged at the President for trying to push America's interests in the world and not paying out bribes.

I think the rest of the world is just really, really happy that George Bush and Dick Cheney are gone and will never be anywhere near the Oval Office ever again.

And I think the Nobel Prize thing is just one manifestation of that happiness.

I also really like the snus thing. The 'Nobel Snus Prize'. Great idea. As long as we can find a way to keep Swedish Match from winning it every year.

Man oh man this effing subject again! Okay I do not think he deserves the peace prize! But I am really responding to this because I agre with VB. Everytime I see a political thread which just so happens to be made by Sgreger1 I think to myself it is just an excuse for you to rag on Mr. Obama!

I get tired of all the crazy non sense spewed in America! If you get your information From Mr. Rush Limbaugh, Gleen Beck or any of the other nuts out there than I won't take anything you say into account because they are crazy bastards imo! I am not saying you do but if you infact do well you know where i stand!

I think that after 4 yrs, when people see that we are not turned into an islamic nation, still have our guns, there has been no death panels, that people will see obama in a new light and that he may be a good person!

All that in mind, He is still a politician and you can only expect so much!!

DUDE, I HAD A DREAM ABOUT THIS.

I dreamt we had a convention at a Great Wolf Lodge (not sure if you've ever been to one), and we were all going from table to table trying each other's home made snuses! Sneese. Snusar. Snusii. Whatever.

                            @ VB SNUS,

You are correct, if he were pushing through what he wanted I would be equally as pissed because I do not agree with him

But I am just pointing out that him saying "we can't do it because republicans are saying no" does not cut it.

This is actually sort of an inherint flaw in having a democratic republic. No one ever agrees on everything and the leader has the option to just do what he wants during his term and be hated, or to try and be bipartisan and make everyone happy which means you will not accomplish anything during your term.

I'm not going to agree with this guy because we see the world in different ways, but I hate when people try to claim he is so much better than Bush. In my eyes, he is just doing the same ole shit.

Also, to rebuttal your comment on how many places love Americans, much of the world loved America even when Bush was in office. There will always be those that see us as the evil western big fat ugly Americans, and there will always be those that see us as a bastion of freedom, democracy and hope. Obama has not been in long enough to change much, people think and hope he is going in the right direction as far as foreign relations and I HOPE he is, no one will know till it's all over.

I didn't understand it when republicans all praised every wrong decision Bush made, and I don't understand why Democrats all praise every wrong decision Obama makes.

Somewhere in the middle, there has got to be a group of people that think things could be done better, and in the last election those people voted for Obama. Now that we know he is just more of the same, people are going to be looking to vote someone else in after Obama. The problem is, that there are no good candidates. America will continue to go corrupt.

I told you in another thread sgreger, you're a three dimensional create traveling on a three dimensional area. You can't see the future.

We don't KNOW he's more of the same. In three years, we may KNOW that, and the election may show us what we know.

                              You know?

FTA: Since the American organisation was asked, but declined, to give up DKK 28 million of an increase of DKK 128 million from the previous four-year period in favour of the poorest IOC countries, a group of the major international sporting federations decided to take action, winning support from IOC members to punish Chicago.

                                /LOL you said FTA
