Autumn and Winter are almost here!!!

I get so excited around this time of year. Here in northwest Florida, we experience Autumn (leaves change color & fall off trees, humidity & temps drop, etc). This means a lot more hanging out indoors. My favorite things to do during these seasons are bundle up with a blanket and a good book while enjoying snuff & tea & Bailey's Irish Cream!! I love to make mulled cider and fill the house with the aroma of clove, cinnamon and nutmeg. To jumpstart the season, I just ordered a bunch of snuff as well as various teas including a delicious coconut tea as well as several chai teas. Anyone else have favorite cold weather activities or hobbies???

I prefer the colder season as well. Nothing like playing video games with a crisp breeze in the air.

Gimme heat any day! I'm dreading the winter this year since the last 2 winters we got more than double our "normal" snowfall for a year, which is about 45-50". So yeah, I'm a little leary of snow now. Hoping we don't get much this year, but I'm not counting on it.

Funny part last year though was the daughter and her hubby were living just south of Boston most of last winter and the only snow I saw there was a teeny tiny barely noticeable 6" square piece in the apartment complex's parking lot. They came back and were "snow shocked" for life I think

Raking leaves, thanksgiving dinner, Julsnus, Kardus, making mulled wine (yum!), Nat King Cole on the stereo as I decorate the yule tree, winter nights under a down blanket as the wind howls outside. Hot tea, a good pipe, and a good book next to my fireplace. Who could ask for anything more? :P

There's a vibe amongst the people in my area that think we are going to get one of the worst winters ever.

Thank god i got a 4x4 this spring.

I hate the winter. It's not the cold per se but heating is very expensive now. Last January my gas bill weighed in at £400. And it's going to get worse, the gas companies are already talking about price rises. Better start wearing my coat indoors, bunch of money grabbing b*stards. :x

May I ask whats 400pounds is in USD?

Yeah, we're already loading up on the blankets and heavy sweats/socks. Shit, I have no pride, I'll start a fire right in the middle of the apartment.

I always get a kick about people in Florida talking about it getting cold.

I live in Florida now but I still remember when I lived up north changing a flat tire when the windchill was 30 below.

Florida is fun in the "winter". The natives wearing jackets and the tourists running around in shorts and a tshirt.
