    Hot Peppers

Do you guys like hot peppers?

Does anyone have a recipe for canning them in jars?

Second to my addiction for snus i have a fetish for ridiculously hot peppers and spicy food.

So far this season I have two gallon jars, 4 quart, and two pint jars of hot peppers. All I either bought or received from friends.

The best ones I've had so far make me sweat. The dog won't even come in the room when I open them. Serves her right for trusting every morsel i toss her way without sniffing first. These ones have bits of olives and tomatoes sprinkled through the jar with some herbs and pieces. Heat AND flavor!!

So is it just me or do you snusers like some spice in your life too?

I love hot peppers too, and hot food, Indian, Mexican. I also grow peppers in the back yard. I haven't tried to jar any, but I do make home made pico with home grown tomatos too, and make a dip for chips with it.

awesome Tom. I bet that stuff tastes better than anything you can buy in a store!

Try puttin some up for when the weather turns.

I always get antsy for them when my stash starts to run out mid-summer.

I love anything hot. I've never grown them myself, but I'm a huge pepper fan.

One thing that happens to me when I eat hot food, the top of my head sweats. I went to this Indian place last Saturday called Bombay, and it didn't seem extremely hot, but I put my hand on the top of my head, and it was dripping wet.

Reminds me of my friend who when I went to taco bell with, we always had laughs because he'd put their brown napkins on the top of his head and there would always be a grease spot.

              Poor bastard.

Haha I'm glad I'm not the only one. I too love spicy food but the very top of my bald-ass head, toward the back, totally drips with sweat even if the spice isn't too much for my palate. It's embarrassing. Sucks to be bald sometimes.

I'm a chili head myself. Some of my favorites are Serranos, Tabascos, Cayennes, and Habaneros. Down in northern Mexico and south Texas they have these very small chili's that grow on a bush called "chili piquin" . about once a year I pay someone to pick me a couple pounds and send them to me. I make salsa while they are fresh. The rest that dry out become quite addictive to chew on. You can fit 50 or more in an empty snus can.

I too am a hot pepper head. Grew some habaneros and chili picante's this year. Love em all. Try some Sambal in your recipes very nice also I use siracha a lot in my cooking, it is by far the best hot pepper sauce for cooking because it isn't vinegar based, just sun dried chili's. Both those are made by a vietnamese company. http://www.huyfong.com/no_frames/product.htm

Every summer I cultivate jalapeno's, habanero's, cayenne's, serrano, chipotle, scotch bonnets and a few varieties of bell peppers. Green, Red, and Brown (yes) bell peppers. All gone now, though. I ate em.

                            BUMP!

I just got some Buht Jolokia (ghost chili) today and it is HOT! My tounge went numb where I placed a few grains of the dried, ground powder and it burned like hell for over an hour. The flavor is good though, nice and smoky and peppery.

I'm so excited...I'm makin' chili tomorrow and sticking some toilet paper in the freezer.

                            Mike
