Deep fried is the way to go. Absolutely scrumptious. And yes, that should be able to take one out. Do you know the FPS of that gun? You more want to get a shot in right behind the front legs, take out the heart/lungs for a fast, humane kill, and it also makes for better meat.

Don't listen to the sympethizers, if you are in fact going to eat it, then get you a bushy-tail! 8)

But don't go killing animals just for fun. Even my five year old know you never point ANY type of firearm at anything you dont intend to DESTROY, and eat.

There are some damn good recipes for bushy-tail online, And if I was a little low in the food dept. as you say you are, I would damn sure supplement with some squirrell meat. Hell, I go out on my ten acres and snipe me one or two here and there, Throw em on the grill, and munch!

I dunno, most of the squirrels we bagged when I was a kid were too tough to fry, so into the stew pot they went.

Fried bunny, on the other hand...

        Mmm, mmm, good!

What does that mean? He said he will be eating them.

What do you hope will catch up with him? Unless you have figured out how to absorb energy from the sun or somehow synthesize food from raw chemicals, living means killing.
Don't know what happened - I only saw the first three posts. Thought mine was the fourth, not the ninth. So If you're eating them - great. (though I can't 'see' eating a squirrel), people eat anything and everything. As for the catching-up with him part... forget it. Not important - sorry I wrote it.

If you will eat it, fine. However, you have a responsibility to make it a clean kill. An underpowered weapon is not OK. That thing does not have the velocity to penetrate it´s skull with a lead pellet. A pellet over the front shoulder or a bee bee through the head.

Leave him alone anyway. Squirrles are fun to have around.

yeah a .410 would be ok, easier to hit a squirrel than with a .22 rifle. Low recoil, too. I just hate picking shot out of my meat, or biting down on a lead pellet. Yucka ducka!
