I've been trying out various snus from the variety pack i bought last week and so far the only one i really enjoy is Goteborg's Rape white portion. General portions were a close second though. I didn't care for the Ettan's at all. It has a chocolately taste that doesn't sit well with me. I'm using a Tre Ankare for the first time as i write this and i'm not impressed either. Not much flavor to it but i'm still giving it a fair shot. So i ordered a roll of Goteborg's. I also ordered a can of the goteborg's rape number 2. I have a feeling i'll really like that one. I also tried some goteborg's rape loose. It tasted wonderful but i can't stand the loose tobacco. It has the same texture as baby shit. :shock: 3 weeks and counting without cigarettes though. Yea Snus!

Goteborgs is tremendous stuff indeed. For the most part, it is my day to day snus as well, tied with Ettan Portion. A close second is Lucky Strike White, but I mostly save those for when I'm drinking coffee, as the two go together marvelously. You might want to try Lucky Strike sometime. Good stuff.
Good call on ordering a can of GR No. 2. While not one of my day to day brands, I definitely count it among my favorites. As far as flavored snus goes, it's the only one that I truly enjoy. The flavor isn't overwhelming and the tobacco flavor peaks through just enough to let you know it's there. I think you'll love it. -
I've used mostly Ettan's lös which is delicious. But I also enjoied Röda Lacket very much (and I might call that even better than Ettan) though I've only tried it once. But I just got a can of Röda from my brother so I'll be enjoying that for few days. Göteborgs Rapé (lös) is quite good too. I haven't been able to try many brands since it's pretty hard to get some exotic flavours here (and I don't have credit card so I can't order it from on-line stores). And they don't sell much different brands in the Sweden-Finland ships. Fortunately Ettan is so good that I can gladly use it.
A bit of nostalghia here - Göteporgs Rapé's white portions was the first brand I ever tried (a friend of mine offered me it in class) and since that was the first time ever I didn't enjoy it as much as I did later. Don't know how much I would've liked lös back then. Loose/lös, whatever you wanna call it, is to me much more better than portions.Comment

I can relate to Soft Morning, City's coffee + Lucky Strike combination, it's really enjoyable!
But I prefer the Original portions against the White Portions, as they are my absolute favorite. Have got a roll of 'em on my next order.

Yes, Rapé sure is a winner! Nice to see folks pick it up. And by the way, TheInsulator, I'm not a fan of Tre Ankare either. I went trough a tin of it long time ago, but I still remember the earthy taste. Reminded me somewhat of the smell of autumn woods - which I really like, just not in my mouth.Comment

I'm not understanding the hype behind Roda and Lucky Strike. Diplomat as well.
Maybe it's just my tastes...but Roda tastes very bland..sorta like a mild version of what you think play-doh tastes like. it's not much different than Prima Fint, which I find to be a little bit better. Lucky is just an ashy taste..very subtle as well, doesn't do jack for me.
maybe my cans are corrupted. I'll give them another chance maybe after my next order.
Goteborgs Rape is certainly great stuff. Ettan kicks ass and General doesn't have the greatest taste, but it has this appeal to it that makes me want to use it all the time.
Anyone notice that while you have either a pris or portion in...the 'outside' taste is bland/unimpressive... (your saliva changes it...much like the way cologne/perfume smells different on different people given their chemical makeup)....then you toss it around, chew it up a bit and you get the real good flavor/essence to come out, but can't get it when you try to use it like normal?
I'll do this often, try to figure out it's essence, the inside taste not altered by my mouth...and i'll certainly get it, but then it's overpowering and I quickly get tired of it. I wish that didn't happen.
But I tried doing this with the aforementioned brands I'm not on the bandwagon with...and I still don't understand what's really there. The closest being Diplomat to really tasting better if mushed up but it's still hit or miss. Roda isn't HORRIBLE it's just..boring. Lucky is a tinny/ashy taste that doesn't turn me on at all.Comment

I'm getting nervous. I ordered a roll of goteborg's last wednesday via REK. It still hasn't arrived and i just cracked open my last can on snus. Catch Licorice. Nasty, revolting stuff. I'm sure it's great if you like licorice but i've always hated it.Comment
