"A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." - Ghandi

One could apply that to prisoners/inmates.

This is so true. Its a poor country, if the weakest members are treated rats like in Romania - and not humans.

This is BTW a new article, where Denmark is listed as the second best country to live in. Norway is the best. The Think Tank Legatum has rated the countries.

      Link: http://ekstrabladet.dk/nyheder/samfu...cle1438782.ece

      Quotes:

"Including Think Tank gauge people's personal freedom, education and security and the country's social safety net."

"Denmark scores top marks for our ability to choose careers and we are also the cheapest country to start their own business."

The Danish health system is only listed as the the 17th best in the world. While the U.S. health system is number 1.

You can see the list here: http://www.prosperity.com/downloads/...exBrochure.pdf

And I'm glad I'm not living in Zimbabwe ;-)

Denmark is not that bad after all.

Normally i would puke when i see people like you lying about your own country, but this has made a point where it gets completely idiotic. Seriously, how do people like you and the people in Denmark manage to get access to the medias? Did you forget to tell people about REALITY? and not your happy-denmark delusional fantasy world?

It honestly sickens me how these disgusting lying danes gets acces to the medias, especially when these "Happy-Denmark" news keeps appearing. Regarding your own article.

        http://ekstrabladet.dk/nationen/article1438993.ece

Here is the very comments from the very danish citizens commenting on your very own article.

        Ivan K.

Directly translated, people disagree with that article you linked to. Finland has better schools than Denmark. Sweden has a better welfare system. Denmarks schools and their healthcare is ranked quite low. How does that match with being the worlds second best country?

Being a complete and utter idiot must be completely normal in Denmark. I honestly would like to know the name of the people who are responsible for those surveys, full name, education, reputation, etc.

Being a country with lousy schools, a bad healthcare system, and terrible hospitals does NOT equal being a great country.

Obviously there's going to be poorly doted hospitals in the rural areas..
You seem to have some kind of brain damage from your birth. Are you too dumb to accept reality? I am sorry that i have to burst your bubble, but i would really like to know what it is that makes you lie about Denmark and make it sound like a great country. I don't see the benefit. Why claim something that you never were and never will be? Honestly, what is it that makes you feel like twisting reality into your own favour? lack of attention from your parents?. Bad self confidence? Wherever you are from, I am sure that you will do your own country a great favour by moving out there.

But honestly, if you really insist, then let's take a close examination on Denmark. The arguments about Denmark being a great country, as well.

          1. Legatum Institute makes the list based on countries' economic growth.
Well, bad news for you. Denmark was until recently the country with second LOWEST growth in Europe.

DANMARK HAR UDSIGT TIL DEN LAVESTE VÆKST I OECD I PERIODEN 2008-12
Ifølge OECDs seneste mellemfristede fremskrivning for de 30 OECD-lande vil Danmark få den
laveste økonomiske fremgang (1,1 pct. årligt) i perioden 2008-12.

DENMARK IN PROSPECT FOR THE LOWEST GROWTH IN OECD FROM 2008-12
According to the latest OECD medium-term projections for the 30 OECD countries, Denmark will get the lowest economic growth (1.1 per cent. annually) over the period 2008-12. This is because there
prospectively can no longer expect a contribution to prosperity growth from growth in
employment. Thus, labor shortages cause of Denmark in the forecast are experiencing
the lowest growth in the OECD.
Denmark does NOT have a high economical growth. I honestly do not know who has been telling the people in the survey that Denmark is a great country with high economical growth. Perhaps the danes once again lied about "how great their country is". What a sick people. I wonder who let's these insane danish people in to the medias, they keep lying and spreading propaganda about how great a country Denmark is.

also, it is quite funny to read the responses in the article:

          http://ekstrabladet.dk/nyheder/samfu...cle1438782.ece

Most of the people commenting on the article are accusing the survey for being full of lies, most people are even acknowledging that Denmark is FAR from a great country to live in. If the worlds second best country has the lowest economical growth, the worst healthcare system, dirty, rotten and disgusting hospitals, a primitive school system with incompetent teachers, then holy hell, you could just as well pick some random village in Africa as the best place to live.

Denmark does not suck - personal experience, I lived there for 3 years.
Why do the danes cry, about high taxes, when the average paycheck is enormous, it evens out.
In Denmark, you don't have to worry about anything, the government will pay for your misfortunes, like unemployment, or homelessness
So it's impossible to become filthy rich in Denmark, so what? Studies show that people are happiest, when they don't have to worry/stress about their financial situation.
Denmark is a country of easy living, unlike America, which is the land of opportunities.

Just a little reminder for all those ignorant americans who keeps writing the same comments around the web, such as "denmark is the happiest", "denmark pays high taxes - and therefore are happiest", or "the healthcare is free in denmark", or "denmark is the happiest country on earth". That is basically the same as saying "I don't know jackshit about other countries, but the hospitals and schools are free so logically denmark is the happiest place on earth." Logically, those idiots who keeps spamming those sentences are complete and utter morons.

First of all, the healthcare in Denmark is NOT great. The waiting lists are long, compensation is very rarely given, and when one of the treatments goes wrong and results in dead, too bad. This is a short segment about a family father from Denmark who got killed by doctors and nurses on Gentofte Hospital, Denmark. They tried to get compensation for 5 years without any luck. 5 Years after, they received a response saying that the case was more than 5 years old and thus outdated and no longer valid. Of course they were shocked to hear that, but they were advises to make a new complain regarding the primary complain system had rejected them. A completely primitive and idiotic way that the system in Denmark works, people can literally kill each other without consequences, as long as they call themselves doctors, nurses, cops, etc.

                          http://nyhederne-dyn.tv2.dk/article....-ventetid.html

Taken from the article and directly transalted.

five years has a family waiting for Patient Complaints should treat the family's complaint about the treatment their husband and father got when he left in 2004 died at Gentofte University Hospital after what the family believes is a malpractice.
But Patient Complaints pending never responded. For when the family had posted additions to the draft decision, as the Patient Complaints Board had asked, they were then told that the appeal was more than five years old and thus outdated.
"You feel you are led around in circles and not getting anywhere. It is strictly to say, but you feel like a break clown," said son of the now dead family father.

Mike, what's your issue? More than half your posts have been personally attacking members of this board. Do you search the internet looking for people speaking highly of Denmark and then attempt to start fights?

I must be one of those 'ignorant Americans' as Denmark does seem like a great country.
