Hi,

Anyone see the new "V" last night? Anyone watch the old one?
This seems it might have some promise. It was a bit hokey in spots.
I don't think in real life people would mass applaud in the streets if an alien craft broadcast some feel good message from the ship.

But, I'll watch it next week.

I was nto the original, was in college at the time so saw much of it. I was excted about the new one, but still missed it, kinda typical for me.

Nor do I. It was unfortunate that that bit of hokery happened so early in the show - just took me right out of it. There were several logic gaps like that, but I'm willing to give it a chance to find its legs.

I liked the first episode.

The problem is ABC is going to ruin their own show.

More than a few journalists and bloggers have remarked that it's possible to read V as an allegory hostile to President Obama and sympathetic with the birthers and other nutcases who believe him to be a wolf in sheep's clothing. The charismatic Visitors load up their "bandwagon" by "spreading hope." In using their sophisticated iguana technology to provide free medical services, they promise "universal health care."

I almost liked it. I loved the original, of course I was like 12 then. I think Diana was hotter than Anna.
I'll watch it again, but they're going to have to work hard to match the original. Taking into account the change in technology for CG it shouldn't be to hard. With good writers.

Definitely! I though it was Ok but I had such great memories of the original. I watched some of them today and it maybe the hookiest shit I have ever seen. Still the original series built up a lot of drama by not revealing the premise too quickly. last night's episode seemed like it had been spliced together from a longer show. I will give it a chance though.

I just saw the pilot and honestly I dont know why im hearing so much hating?? I thought it ****ing rocked. Best show ive seen in a while.

I love how they threw in the universal healthcare and hope and chance stuff. Perhaps Obama is a reptilian overlord after all? lol no but seriousely if you havnt seen it you should give it a try. I never saw the original series though.
