    Quit Smoking...Reward to MYSELF!! lol

So its been about 3 months since I quit smoking, and I definately feel that I am past the point of relapse. So I rewarded myself with a little purchase:

    1. - 52" Sony Lcd Tv - 1080p (Full HD), 240 Hz, S-FORCE Front Surround Sound, 1920 x 1080 resolution. Also has an input to hook the computer up to, if you had the audacity to do such a thing.

    2. - Sony 5 disc Blu Ray/DVD/CD/AM-FM/7.1 Surround Sound Home Theater System - 1000 Watts. Plays ANY media format, has an Ipod dock, and Digital Upscaling - plays regular 480p and 720p dvd's and converts them to 1080p.

    3. - Upgraded to Dish Network High Definition Dual DVR unit.

    4. - Nintedo Wii w/ Wii Fit Plus and Sports Resort- Mostly for wife and kids.

    5. - Playstation 3 will be added as soon as I "recover" a little from the others. Still rockin' the PS2 for now.

They link together with Sony's BraviaSnc, so the theater system can actually control the tv also, and everything syncs together, hassle free. Has a microphone that "tunes" the audio to optimal performance for any spot in the room.

Best thing is I can get rid of my entertainment center, dvd player, cd player/stereo, and about 900 miles of wires. TV on the wall, and one unit that does EVERYTHING.

How awefully thoughtful of myself to reward myself so lavishly.....

Congrats on the no smoking, and the awesome purchase. You might wanna throw a 360 in the mix as well. When you do get the PS3, hit me up, Veganpunk but I'm mostly on Live.

My husband 'rewarded' himself last Father's Day with a 52" Bravia. He loves it but I was content with our 10 year old 32" Sony Wega. I will admit, it does make playing the Wii a lot more fun! I can now read the words while playing Guitar Hero!! Enjoy your fun purchase! Have you mounted the TV yet? We got a 'mid-grade' wall mount, one that allows the TV to be pulled out and swiveled. It's scary as hell though because it is so wobbly that it feels like the TV's gonna rip it out of the wall!

Thats funny, thats what I'm upgrading from, an old 32" dinosaur of a tv that we bought like 8 years ago. Haven't mounted it yet, for some reason all the different components are coming on different days. So I'm waiting till Monday when the last of it gets here, before I start the process of tediously going through the spaghetti factory of wires Ive got going on now behind the entertainment system. Its probably gonna take a couple hours, so I might as well wait till I have everything in front of me.

Knew I should've aimed higher...when I'd quit for 150 days, all I got was another boa constrictor for myself! :P

I have a new 27 inch HD TV budgeted in the next few weeks. That replaces the current 13 inch TV I have been using for a year. Also getting cable again after a three year absence.

I am not really a huge TV fan, but want it for the Olympics next year.

27 inches is plenty big for the space I have.

So everything is set up, and fuxing insane!!! The Cinemotion and MotionFlow technology of the tv is uncomprehensibly life-like. I actually had to turn the setting down halfway, because it was just too real. It wasn't like watching tv, it was more like standing right next to the actors as the film was being shot. Took the time to look up the best calibrations, and believe me it was well worth the time. Anyone with a high def tv that hasn't calibrated it correctly, DO IT!! Its like night and day, and oh so realistic.

The sound system is nuts too, damn near rattles all the pictures off my walls!
