I've never been the type to like any charter or treaty which prohibits or puts rules down regarding scientific or technological research and advances, so the Charter of Fundamental Rights frosts my balls a bit.

Also a statement like this is interesting:

Conscious of its spiritual and moral heritage, the Union is founded on the indivisible, universal values of human dignity, freedom, equality and solidarity; it is based on the principles of democracy and the rule of law. It places the individual at the heart of its activities, by establishing the citizenship of the Union and by creating an area of freedom, security and justice.
Sounds all Universal Unitarian. On the one hand I like it. On the other hand I wonder how it will treat the immense diversity and cultural heritage of each nation in the union.

I don't know much about the rest of the treaty, so I won't comment.

Well, lets take an example of the treaty, instead of voting for important things, its now based on your own country's population, lets take example:

Every small-populated country votes for something(for voting they need 75% of EU's population, thats like +300 million people) and for voting against it and not making it legal you need 35% of population and thats around 135million people, so Germany&GB can alone vote against anything they dont like, so that rule brings more and more power to the "big" countries.

And the big countries alone can vote anything becoming legal because the small countries cant do shit to stop it.

You call that democracy? ; )

          Welcome to DemoKracy 2.0

But this has always been the issue in every system. You can't trust large central government to create things like this because in the end they are creating it to serve themselves.

I'll check out the video when I get home since I know nothing about this treaty or even what treaty is being discussed.

          Anyone care to elaborate?

              nevermind
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

                  It's all ullshit!!
Many years ago my Perents voted for us to join a common market with Europe. No way did we give our Government carte blanche to join the United States of Europe.

There seems to be little point in the UK having a Parliament anymore.

I love Europe and the Europeans, I love tearing around France and the Alps on my bike, I just don't want to be ruled by them.

                  I mostly be voting UKIP.

I've been following that whole thing on and off for a while. Haven't read anything on it in a while, as last I checked on it, the Czechs were still making everybody nervous about it, as a bunch of other countries were going to see what they did before voting. Seems like it takes forever for anything to pass in the European Parliament, though.
