    Why do CD's suck so extremely hard. It's Twenty-o-Nine baby

    Okay... So I bought Dragon's Age:Origins for xbox 360.

    I’ve had it for like 3 days or something but haven’t had much time to play it...

    I finally get the chance last night...

    I begin my adventure...

    Within minutes the dog knocks the xbox off balance. It was sitting on the floor and fell over sideways....


    Now the CD is unreadable because it’s scratched up and looks like I left it in a Los Angeles public restroom where 20 gang members subsequently scraped their initials into it.


    **** CD's. With the low cost of hard drives they should use some type of read only USB device or something digital. Cd's break too easily, and now I’m out 60 bucks.


    Does anyone know about resurfacing products that cost <60$ that I could fix this with?

    Hollywood video used to do it for free but they all shut down in Northern CA.

    i dont know of any right off the top of my hand...but thats just another point that goes to playstation

      mirror glaze and a clean white cotton t shirt and some elbow grease will take nearly any scratch out of a cd.

          Doesn't playstation use CD's just like Xbox? (I only played PS3 once.)

            im saying that any time something bad happens and an xbox is involved we can blame it on the system

                i've used it a ton of times. i would borrow cds and dvds from the library, fix them up, and then copy them. sure, it's not exactly legal, but it works and i figure i did the library a service by making a lot of their discs playable again.

                  In the Wiki video they actually use tooth paste, they baking soda type is best. Which is a mild abrasive not unlike a rubbing compound. So in theory it makes sense..

                    toothpaste only really works with smaller superficial scratches, in my experience, but isn't necessarily a fix for deeper ones.

                      I disagree, even though I'm on my second Xbox and still my first PS3, the play time for the two vary greatly. Microsoft "won" the console war between the two this time around!

                        im stillon my ps2 its lasted an amazing 2 years with no problems and it gets plenty of play 10 - 20 hours at a time when i sit down to play

                          Do you have a Blockbuster near by. They have to have a professional polisher. they may charge you a couple bucks but if none of the other stuff works it would be worth a shot. I'd hate to see what some of their rentals come back looking like.

                            Yah maybe I should ask them. The hollywood video used to do it free since I was a member but they closed down. Maybe blockbuster does it to.

                            I just don't want to pay another 60$.




                            Also,

                            XBOX FTW!!!!!!
                            Even with minor problems I still like it and it's controllers better than PS3.

                              Infact, I don't think this can be blamed on Xbox at all...


                              The more reasonable answer is that my xbox when tipped over caused a group of electrons to smash into each other, creating the higgs boson particle. But since the higgs is so elusive to nature, IT ACTUALLY CAME BACK THROUGH TIME TO SABOTAGE MY XBOX AND RUINED MY NEW FAVORITE GAME.


                              And furthermore, I heard on the Glenn Beck AND the Rush Limbaugh program that the higgs boson's time traveling mischief is actually part of a clandestine operation set into place by none other than Barack Obama himself, using powers from the patriot act, to destroy the one thing white people love most, which is of course video games (Midieval based RPG's in particular).


                              I ****ING KNEW IT.....
