    Ipod touch

    Reviews? Anyone have anything good or bad to say about them? I'd like to get a 64 gig one. The games aren't the absolute best but they're a time sink. Lots of music again so Be a good thing. Plus I can put movies on it and it'd be nice for while at work on some of my boring days. 400 bucks is like woah but I sold a weeks vacation anyways because it doesn't roll over to next year. Anyways.

    tl:dr. How are Ipod Touch's?

    I got one for free for buying a Mac recently as par tof a promotion. I like it a lot as far as MP3 players go, it's probably the best. I personally don't use it much, but that is because I only really use my ipod when on my motorcycle, and the old click button one works best because I can skip forward/backward through my playlists through my pants without looking, something the touch cannot do.

    I still think the'yre expensive, but the apps aspect of it is really cool. lots of fun games to waste time on.

    If you've got the money, and you odn't plan on using it on a motorcycle, than go for it.

      I use Macs at home and work, and an old ipod, but my phone is a crackberry. If I were to consider an ipod touch I think I might perfer to have it work as a phone too. Do the new iphones have close to 64 gigs or is it still like 8? If the phone still can't hold much music, and it doesn't seem like they will for a while yet, then yeah maybe the Touch would be pretty cool for games and movies. It has internet access right? As long as you carry a bag with you most of the time, seems like a decent idea. I wouldn't want a big ass ipod and a big ass phone in my pockets separately though

        Glad to hear I'm not the only dumbass who listens to my ipod when I ride. Careful though, a few weeks ago I was changing the song in my coat pocket and my hand went under the earbud cord, so when I reached back for my handlebar the ipod bit the dust hard on the freeway. I guess the pants pocket would have solved that problem huh.

        Now I'm using my girlfriend's old shuffle, and the battery lasts for like 1 hour. My brother is a mac whore though so he's gonna kick me down an old ipod for xmas

          Although not often, I too occasionally listen and ride. But never, not even once, have I tried to change a track while riding.

          Whatever playlists I am using are designed to make sure I never want to skip a track. I literally just turn it on and forget.[/i]

            Really guys? I thought everyone always listened while riding. In CA it is legal since they passed that "must use bluetooth" thing so now they can no longer claim having sound transmitted into your ear is distracting lol.

            But when I listen to music it's a lot like when watching p0rn, I gotta skip around a lot, I can't stick to just one playlist in a certain order.

            What I do is put my cell phone in my left pocket, then my ipod ontop of it like a sadnwich so that i can easly use my left hand to click around tracks without causing any distraction. But also the cell hpone forces the ipod to be pushed up closer against my pants so it would be extremely difficult to fall out. I mean when I try to take it out by hand it is very diffucult.

            So works for me.

            @Roo

            Dude I wish we would have had this discussion like a month ago because I just gave away an almost brand new Ipod Nano because I have 2 other ipods and figured someone else could use it (since I got the touch for free).

            I would have tottally slid that your way.

              I got an Ipod Touch last xmas and it is pretty cool. It's just the 8gig one, but it's still not filled yet. Does come in handy when bored or in the car by just hooking it into your aux port.

              And...if you have a VOIP account, you can use the Ipod Touch to make phone calls while you're in range of wireless. Can use Skype for that of course, but using a VOIP account is just cooler, hehe 8) Just set up some software, add a headset with mic, and you're in business. I tried using my bluetooth headset with it, but for some reason it's not picking it up. Probably the bluetooth is crippled somehow since it wouldn't pick up my computer's dongle either. Only thing that bluetooth did pick up was my Blackberry, go figure :P
